Hello, friends. I’m writing this entry from sort of a cathartic place. If you haven’t heard, I was one of the 240+ people laid off from my company back in January, but my “separation date” is actually this coming Sunday. This meaning I have technically been an employee of my place of work, but I haven’t been actively working per our separation agreement. It comes with a standard severance package, and we’ll be continuing our medical coverage through COBRA. What some don’t know is that a few weeks after this happened, my wife was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. To make that story short, the doctors who treated her were amazing and were able to remove all of the tumor and found nothing else had been affected. All she’ll need is radiation treatment which will start in a week or so.

Ham Radio update and a look ahead to September
Well, here we are. Another update on a semi-regular basis. There are some good things to share with you that will help out my future events. I’ve made some headway in my antenna and Ham Radio fronts, having gotten my antenna fixed. And I’ve started planning my September event with a special call sign to use on the air. I still haven’t gotten my bike inside yet, though. After the last snow storm we had, it was taking a while for the snow to melt so I could retrieve it from the shed. And then we got another storm!
