I am a Ph.D student at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I grew up in suburban Massachusetts, and did my undergraduate studies at the University of New Hampshire where I received a degree in Statistics. After undergrad, I spent two years working in industry, to solidify my resolve to do my Ph.D., gain perspective, and save some money.

My research interests are in robotic perception (lidar, mm wave radar, etc) and state representations. I believe that in order for robotics to experience the same breakthroughs as NLP, we need a new class of robot centric foundation models. Such models will leverage the less limited perceptions, and rich, well understood world representations.

Outside of work I enjoy skiing, hiking, and playing video games. I am an avid “reader” which means listening to audio books during my commute and while working out. Fantasy, Sci-Fi and classic literature make up the majority of what I read with the occasional history or culinary book in between.
