PHP Version Compatibility

PHP 8.3 (Fully Supported)

WordPress now officially supports PHP up to 8.3, and Breakdance fully supports PHP 8.3 as well. We recommend running Breakdance on PHP 8.3 for the best performance, security, and compatibility.

As of Breakdance 2.2 and beyond, we have resolved all known issues related to PHP 8.2 and 8.3. If you encounter any errors or compatibility issues while using Breakdance with PHP 8.3, please do not hesitate to report them to our support team.

PHP 8.4 and 8.5 (Not Yet Supported)

WordPress currently provides only beta support for PHP 8.4 and 8.5 (see PHP Compatibility and WordPress Versions). Because Breakdance’s official compatibility is tied to WordPress’s compatibility, we cannot claim full support for PHP 8.4 or 8.5 at this time.

You’re welcome to experiment with these versions if you wish, but:

• We do not officially support PHP 8.4 or 8.5 yet
• You may encounter issues due to incomplete ecosystem compatibility
• If you do test with these versions and notice problems, you’re encouraged to report them to us

Once WordPress announces official, stable support for PHP 8.4 or 8.5, Breakdance will follow with official support.
