A Career Built on Research, Reporting, and Results

I’ve been writing professionally since 2008, when I began my career as a freelance journalist, writing for local and national news publications in Scotland. Those early years sharpened my research skills and gave me a grounding in human-led storytelling and fact checking.

In 2011, I founded an education website that grew into a recognised resource before being acquired in 2021. Building a business around digital marketing strategy taught me how copywriting connects directly to commercial outcomes.

In 2013, I launched Brand New Copy. Over the last decade, I’ve worked with global brands across energy, sustainability, technology, and finance – industries where precision and credibility matter most. Today, from my studio in Edinburgh, I act as a consultancy partner for global brands that need messaging with measurable impact.
