After having read issue #1 of the hotly-anticipated and much-debated “Final Crisis” yesterday, I find myself agreeing with a lot of what Jim is saying here. The storyline so far is hackneyed on a number of levels, not least of which is the fact that events which have been all too commonplace in the DCU of late are being treated with huge mystical significance, like they didn’t just happen in “Countdown.” I know people would like to forget and bury “Countdown,” but if you want to retcon something, at least give it a year or two, you know? (MAJOR SPOILERS FOLLOW–DON’T CLICK PAST THE JUMP IF YOU’VE NOT READ “FINAL CRISIS”)
