Borland C++Builder is a rapid application development (RAD) environment for C++ created by Inprise Corporation. It combines a visual form designer, an object-oriented component framework (the Visual Component Library, or VCL), and a fast native C++ compiler to help developers build Windows desktop and client/server applications efficiently. The IDE offers Code Insight code completion, an Object Inspector for properties and events, integrated debugging, resource and project management tools, and data-aware components for database development. Connectivity options commonly include the Borland Database Engine (BDE), ADO, ODBC, and InterBase support. With its component-based architecture, compatibility with COM/ActiveX and the Windows API, and a rich ecosystem of third-party components, C++Builder brought Delphi-style productivity to C++ and became a popular choice for creating high-performance, maintainable applications in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Borland C++Builder is developed by Inprise Corporation and is used by 43 users of Software Informer.
