I’ve added battery level display for most headphones and Bluetooth codec switching.

You can now switch the Bluetooth codec without going into Desktop Mode. This makes it possible to enable headset (voice) mode and use your headphones’ microphone (audio quality will obviously be poor), as well as switch between the codecs supported by your headphones.

The battery level is read directly from the system — if Steam Deck shows the headphone battery level, MagicPods will automatically pick it up.

MagicPodsPlasmoid is a new KDE Plasma 6 widget that brings headphone control to SteamOS and Linux.

It provides a simple MagicPodsCore interface for the KDE panel, allowing you to monitor battery levels, manage noise control, and handle Bluetooth connections for AirPods, Beats, Samsung Buds, and more.

Designed with Steam Deck in mind, MagicPodsPlasmoid works seamlessly in Desktop Mode.

The widget is currently available in a testing phase and requires manual installation. A more convenient installation method is planned for the future.

I’ve taken all your feedback into account and completely reworked the plugin. You can now disable the black background when pressing any button or when the Steam Deck wakes from sleep. It’s also possible to mute sound and microphone when the black background is activated. For those who use the Steam Deck as a controller, there is now an option to enable or disable the touchscreen.

There is also a new way to reduce OLED screen flickering. To do this, set the brightness to 100% and use the transparency slider to adjust the desired brightness level using the black background.

Noise cancellation control, more accurate battery level for each earbud, setting the press-and-hold action, device renaming, adjusting earbud sound volume — and other familiar Beats app features — are now available on Windows.

And for Powerbeats Pro 2 — even more: you can enable the heart rate sensor directly in MagicPods and use it in fitness apps.

Adds support for AirPods Pro 3 and fixes the “black screen of death” issue with Decky Loader. Make sure to update!
