Stuff I'm working on

I wanted to shoot my finished Fellblade this weekend, but it doesn't fit on my background. Oops!

I ordered a bigger one. But that leaves me without an update...

So here are pics of the next batch of pieces I'll be painting. Getting ready to prime these and get started!

Leg-swapped Grimaldus and Friends:

FW Chaplain Dreadnought with Contemptor limbs:

Primaris Ancient:

Kitbashed Techmarine with all the moldslips:

Scout bikers:

With these I'm getting really close to wrapping up the project. I have some Devastator bits ready and waiting, and I'd like to build some Vanguard Veterans. Maybe I'll kitbash a set of Sword Bretheren too, I don't know.

Anyway, so much for now. Thanks for looking!

Kitbashed Jetpack Marshall

A few pics of the kitbashed/truescaled Jump Pack Marshall I just finished. I'm pretty happy with it so far!

You can see:
  • Space Marine Commander legs, tabard, cloak and left arm. The legs were shopped in pieces, repositioned and extended by about 2-3mm. I also chopped his left foot in half so I can bend his toes forward. The left arm is the sword arm with the sword taken off.
  • A Terminator thunderhammer shaft was used for his thunderhammer. I used the bottom of the TH handle first, followed by the top portion. A brass rod is holding the thunderhammer together.
  • A custom, 3D printed hammer head.
  • Vanguard Veteran left shoulder pad, head and jump pack.
  • The right hand is from the Black Templars chapter upgrade, and the shoulder pad is from a tactical squad I previously basecoated and then realized I didn't need.
  • The chest piece is from the Black Templars chapter upgrade. He has about 3 mm of wrist sculpted out of Milliput and then had bits thrown around.
  • On top of the jump pack is a thingy I found in my bits box.
Hope you like it!

Truescaled Space Marine Outriders!

A lot of stuff going on here! Let's get to it.

My Templar Regent (Black Templar descendant) chapter is composed of a bunch of truescaled marines, so bikes had to follow. I decided to get Forgeworld Outriders as they're significantly bulkier than normal bikes. Normal bikes would look too small for upscaled models.

In addition, I decided to extend the bikes. I didn't know exactly how I'd do it, but it had to be done. First things first, my marines have longer legs. Second, they have torsos; so unless I lean them forward to reach for the handlebars, they'd look too tall. It just seems like the right thing to do.

I cut the bike somewhat diagonally, right where a rider's leg would be. That way I could botch up the cut and it wouldn't be visible.

I used a few sheets of plasticard glued together to increase stability. After plastic cement has dried, the bike is a very, very solid piece. I threw milliput to fill up the gap and reconstruct the bike seat. The seat is the only thing visible after the rider is put on the bike. I've cleaned up things a bit since taking these pics but not too much.

The wheels fit great. I modeled special front wheels that fit Outriders, as they come with custom, resin front wheels.

Finally, I truescaled the riders themselves. There's three of them, all with magnetized hands. I assembled a plasma-focused loadout for now, but I have bits for other loadouts around in case I need them. Plasma looks cool though.

I converted one model to look standing on the bike, the others are moving. I think it'd make sense that bikers would zoom around, stop to shoot for a bit, and move on. You can't fire a plasma rifle onehanded while riding.

Templar Regent Family Picture!

I took some time today to take pics of all Marines that I've painted over the last half year or so. I wasn't writing much during the process so pics are long overdue.

The chapter is a custom, Black Templar derivative called the Templar Regent. They're all truescaled, standing at about the same height as a Primaris marine.

You can see:

  • A drop pod
  • 3x5 Crusaders with bolters
  • 3x5 Crusaders with bolt pistols and chainswords
  • Chaplain with a bolt pistol and Crozius
  • Captain with a storm bolter and thunder hammer
  • Land Raider Crusader
  • 5 Terminators
  • Captain in Termie Armor with magnetized arms
  • Stormhawk
  • Two Razorbacks
  • Relic Leviathan Dreadnought

All crusaders have fully magnetized special and heavy weapon guys. Combi-weapons are magnetized too.

The Chaplain is Ortan Cassius, truescaled and with all Ultramarine insignia removed. Man, monopose kits are a pain to truescale. It doesn't look great but it's good enough. The head is a graft of a Necron Immortal face onto a bare Space Marine head w/ breathing mask over his cheeks.

Not much special to say about the drop pod and the tanks. They're pretty cool though, and fully magnetized. I'm looking forward to painting more.

The Stormhawk is fully magnetized and can be converted into a Stormtalon.

Termies are truescaled and magnetized too.

The Captain is your normal Space Marine Terminator Captain that comes with some GW kits, but truescaled and handswapped. His Thunderhammer head is 3D printed.

Thanks for looking, and enjoy!
