Finally done with these. I gotta admit, while I was originally trying to do my best, I lost patience quickly. I'm busy these days and kinda just wanted to get it over with.
Well, they look great from afar.
Epic stories about removing mold lines and destroying brushes with poor technique.

Further Lychguard Progress
I've been very busy lately. This squad is very taxing on my time as well, I'm going to have to paint something lighter for the next couple of months. It gets hard to muster the attention this squad deserves by the time I get home.
Bodies done, most shields done, weapons and final touchups remaining.

Lychguard Theme and WIP Pics
I finally decided on the theme I'm going to use for my Lychguard. I also improved the painting on the blue bits (added black lines where applicable) and made the faceplate much lighter.
The sword will be a simple pair of red-orange-yellow gradients with dark red inlays. It's simple, I will be able to make it consistently look alike across models, and fits well with the army.

Experimenting with Lychguard
So I've been working on my Lychguard for a while, then went on a trip, but I am back now and hope to paint more regularly.
While the Lychguard itself are straightforward to paint, I'm having trouble deciding on how to paint the weapons and the shields. So I tried I bunch of stuff and thought I'd share. Still thinking about it.
Here's the overall theme (work in progress still)
And here are the shields and weapons. I painted just the front of each shield, and painted each side of a weapon differently to try things out. I think I like blue shields most, they look the heaviest and sturdiest, and think bright orange weapons go best with it. Still thinking about it.
