skull and bones

today (a day late) you get more e.e. cummings

if i should sleep with a lady called death
get another man with firmer lips
to take your new mouth in his teeth
(hips pumping pleasure into hips)

seeing how the limp huddling string
of your smile over his body squirms
kissingly, i will bring you every spring
handfuls of little normal worms.

dress deftly you flesh in stupid stuffs,
phase the immense weapon of your hair.
understanding why his eye laughs,
i will bring you every year

something which is worth the whole
an inch of nothing for your soul.

Just wrapped up the May 24 weekend, we went camping, as always it was a lot of fun. Camping is probably my favourite thing to do in the summer and the Elora Gorge Conservation Area is quickly becoming my top place to camp in Ontario. It's not too far from home and the specific site that we keep going back to is gorgeous, plus tubing down the gorge in the summer time is awesome.

I don't have a lot going on but at the same time there is a tonne. I need to get a whole bunch of stuff done before I leave for camp next month, and Sam's birthday is coming up so I am heading to London next week and can't really get anything done before then because it takes a little bit of time. That and I'm waiting for my tax return to come in so that I can start getting things together for when I leave for camp. I also need to go to Kingston to get somethings done so there is a lot of travelling in. a short amount of time with a tonne of other things to do along side of it. Regardless, I am really excited for camp.

I passed the first aid course so I am now certified! Woot! I also have a job interview with an overnight camp that is for kids with learning disabilities and behavioral needs, I am excited. That's really about all that's happened so far.

Home For Now

Exams are done! It's summer time!

But now I have to find a job.

So I finished up exams on Thursday and that night we hung around the apartment drinking there, never did make it out to the bar like we planned but it was a good night. And then on Saturday night Erica invited me to go with her to Adam's place since it was his last night in town as well. It reminded me a lot of the people that I hung around with in high school, so despite meeting everyone (except Adam) for the first time that night it was a little nostalgic. I learned a new drinking game that's based on baseball which was actually a lot of fun to play and I'm thinking that it's something I'm going to have to pass on to some people.

Currently back at my parent's place, I have first aid training all day tomorrow and the next day and then I REALLY need to find work for the summer. I can't go another year not working, especially if I want to get to New Zealand at the end of next year.

Guh, jobs just seem to hate me. The most common jobs are in restaurants but they want people with experience, which I don't have. I haven't worked in a restaurant since I was 15, I went from hostess to administration for the next few summers so that's where most of my experience lies. Hopefully I find something... anything?

Procrastination Thy Name Is LJ

So class for this year end today for me. I'm this --| |-- close to being finished my third year. I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. I still have no clue what I am going to do with myself after next year.

Easter was good, dinner with the extended family, lots of chocolate and they managed to convince me to get some new clothing. It's actually feminine? This never happens! Great Grandma's birthday was also really good, I don't know if I mentioned it. I knew all of like four people there that weren't my immediate family but Mom moved around the room talking with people she hasn't seen in year and Grandma Annie seemed to love it so all was well.

Monday I brought Pedro (my car) back to London with me and the parking spot I have been using was occupied so I squeezed between Souvlaki man's posts and the side of our building to park on the property that belongs to our building. Souvlaki man freaked out. He came and banged on the door and then proceeded to yell at me about parking there despite the fact that Pedro was on my fucking property. At any rate we fought and then I eventually moved the car and parked in the pay lot out back, went to bed around midnight and then had to wake up at quarter to six so that I could move the car before I got a ticket. So I hauled my ass out of bed and ran through the torrential rain, hopped in the car only to look up and see that someone had taken a swing at my windshield and cracked the shit out of it. Just a little too co-incidental if you ask me, so I filed a police report and drove back to Alton for the second time within twelve hours. For now Pedro is home for good, or until I figure something else out. Just a little more than pissed off. This makes getting to AO really difficult and teen group is finally starting up again.  /rant

I've seen a bunch of movies lately so quck reviews:

Alice in Wonderland   2/5
In all honesty it was really only OK, I went in expecting a lot more from Tim Burton. I mean it was good but it wasn't spectacular. The best part of it, in my opinion, is the March Hare, not Depp as the Hatter, not Helena B.C. as the Red Queen, but Paul Whitehouse voicing the March Hare. The little doormouse was also really good, the secondary characters in general kind of stole the show.

Clash of the Titans   3.5/5
For a remake it was pretty good. In regards the recent actions flicks... it was still pretty good. It was a little bit slow in parts but watching 20 feet of Sam Worthington more than makes up for it. They bent fact a little for the movie which kind of irked me (Perseus is Poseidon's son, not Zeus') but it was still done well. Hades may have been my favourite from the actor side, Fiennes did a really good job.

How to Train Your Dragon  5/5
By far the best movie that I've seen in a while. It moved along quickly (which is expected in a children's movie, gotta keep em entertained) but it was REALLY well done. There was a lot of humour and quick wit, a lot of things in there for the adults (which again is common in kid's movies but this was really good for it). The dragons were varied and hilarious in parts, the voice actors were phenomenal, like all kids movies there was a good take home message. And in all honesty it scratched my viking itch which makes it even better in my books.

This That and The Other Thing

So an update!

Saw Jen, had a drink caught up, it was a lot of fun. We did that on the 23rd, and I had just finished my Christmas shopping and was about to begin the drive to Sydenham crammed into the back of a car so it was a more than welcome break.

Christmas was really good, everyone liked their gifts and dinner went smoothly. We met my grandparent's neighbours and listened to my Grandfather talk with him about some of the cases that he worked on (his neighbour is a guard at the pen.) Then Christmas happened, got a digital SLR wich is kind of really awesome, I was super surprised, and then dinner with the family, Betty and Harold didn't come this year so they were missed. Then on boxing day we made the loverly drive back to Alton but we made amazing time down the 401 which was nice.

Went snowboarding for the first time this season on Sunday and absolutely revelled in it, I love being on an actual hill and not just a bump. Then yesterday the Olympic Torch came through Orangeville so we went to the big event that they put on for that and that Brandon was a part of, he skiied down Murray's Mountain on provincial TV so that's kind of awesome for him. Three hours standing on a hill in the bitter wind was however not so much fun, Brian Mackie ran the torch through the ceremony and just before they took it away I manage to convince my brother to take a picture with the mascots with me.

Tonight was the Sherlock Holmes movie which was really freaking amazing. It would have been much better however if the douchebags beside us would have kindly shut the fuck up. They were my age, you would think that they would know how to behave in a movie, they weren't even subtle about it.

The plan for the rest of the break is pretty up in the air, don't quite know what's happening aside from some more snowboarding and laundry. Still I'm looking forward to it :)

Home For A Rest!

I lived through exams! Don't know how well I did yet but I lived through them.

Last fews days of exams were a lot of fun, it included burning things and drinking, and Dmitri's, although not all on the same night.
What to expect from my break at my parents: food that's not rice noodles, dogs when we get to Kingston, cable, torment from my brother, and much more. I'm also supposed to get together with both Jen and Megan, I saw Megs at Thanksgiving but it's been over a year since I saw Jen so that should be good.

At anyrate, that's really all that's happening. Been watching a lot of the SciFi channel with my bro.
