How does a migration work?
Migrating WordPress is a straightforward process in most scenarios, but not all WordPress migrations are the same.
Server to Server Migrations
If you’re doing a server-to-server migration, common when upgrading web hosts, we’ll download a copy of your website to our local machine and then upload it to your new website server.
After we’ve migrated WordPress to your new hosting, we’ll update your domain settings, so the new web hosting becomes the primary host. This type of migration may take upwards of 2-3 hours to complete, depending on the size of your website.
HTTP to HTTPS Migration
If you’re upgrading your website to a secure (HTTPS) protocol with an SSL certificate, then you’ll need an HTTP to HTTPS migration service.
Migrating WordPress to a New Domain
This type of WordPress migration is the most complicated and may take between a few hours to several days to complete, depending on how big your website is.
Will my website be offline during the website migration?
Your WordPress website will remain online during the migration with only limited downtime expected if you’re doing a New Domain migration.
