I don’t believe that you can build a great product without ever encountering the problem you are trying to solve.

Getting people’s opinions and feedback is secondary source of truth, suffering is primary.

So rather than going on a hunt for startup idea, I think it’s better to just be more mindful and curious when you encounter the next problem.

A few key points also noted by Paul Graham in his blog on what are best startup ideas:

• they’re something the founders themselves want
• that they themselves can build
• that few others realize are worth doing

This is what’s crucial to understand programming for programmers who like to code is not just about the programs they get out of it. That may be the economic value. It’s not the only human value. The human value is just much in the expression.

This quote from the podcast between Lex Fridman and DHH resonated with me a lot. Programming isn’t just work for many of us it’s a hobby, something which we find joyful.

It’s the “Joy of Programming” that makes us want to do things and learn rather than offloading everything to AI.
