Shotgun Scenario Review: Whereabouts Unknown

Usually, I am a Handler when it comes to Delta Green, but recently I had the chance to join a game as a player. The scenario was Whereabouts Unknown, the winner of the 2006 Shotgun Scenario Contest. It was written by Bret Kramer, of Last Things Last fame. I also previously wrote a review of Good Intentions by the same author, which you can find here.

Scenario Workshop: The Lynchburg Cluster Redux

This rambling post is about modifying and extending my 2024 mini-campaign The Lynchburg Cluster to turn it more into a sandbox. Do not read this if you don't want to be spoiled. And if you don't care about spoilers you should probably read or skim the campaign first.

The Current State of the DG Scenario Database

I have been running the DG scenario database for almost three years now and it has grown a lot in that time. The submissions to the 2025 Shotgun Scenario Contest have pushed us to over 1000 tracked scenarios! This milestone deserves a blog post, so here I present some statistics about the current state of the database.

Shotgun Scenario Review: Dreams in the Fish House

It has been a while since my last shotgun scenario review, mostly because I've been running my own scenarios. However, recently I got the chance to run Dreams in the Fish House by magnificentophat, so here's a review. There will be spoilers!

Some Favorites from the 2025 Shotgun Scenario Contest

The end of the year also means the conclusion of the annual Shotgun Scenario Contest. This time there were a total of 81 submissions. You can read them all here.

One-Page Horrors Jam Reviews

In January I ran a jam on the N@TO-Discord. The goal was to create one-page horrors, mysteries or complications that can be easily slotted into an ongoing campaign, all on one page of a Google Doc. This was of course inspired by Dennis Detwiller's Two-Minute Terrors.

The jam got 18 submissions in total, which I would call a great success. All entries can be found in the contest doc. In the following I will go over each submission and share some thoughts.

2024 Shotgun Scenario Contest Reviews - Part 1

The 2024 Shotgun Scenario Contest is over, which means that it's time for reviews. This year there was a record-breaking number of entries, so this post only contains reviews of the first 40 submissions. The other half will follow soon. You can read all scenarios here.

UPDATE: the remaining reviews can be found here.

2024 Alphabet Jam Reviews

The 2024 Alphabet Jam has recently concluded. Each participant was assigned a letter and was tasked to write a Delta Green scenario inspired by a word starting with their assigned letter. The more unusual the chosen word, the better. This year it was also a jam, not a contest, so there was no winner. Or rather, everyone who submitted something is a winner.

I didn't have time to participate this year, but I read all entries and wrote short reviews. All submissions can be found here.

Shotgun Scenario Review: Apoptosis

In this post I'll review Apoptosis, the winning scenario of the 2023 Shotgun Scenario Contest by Dragoleaf. I already wrote a little bit about Apoptosis in this post, but I finally got to run it, so I thought I'd give it a more in-depth review.

Plateau of Leng Pointcrawl - Masterpost

The campaign I am currently working on will take the Agents to the Plateau of Leng and from there further into the Dreamlands. To make the travel over the infamous plateau interesting I am turning it into a pointcrawl. This masterpost contains links to all the points of interest that the Agents can explore while they make their way across the icy wastes of Leng.

Using the Weird Science Scenario Generator

My last post was about the Weird Science Scenario Generator, which is essentially just a bunch of random tables to generate biology-themed Weird Science scenarios for Delta Green. In this post I use the scenario generator to come up with an outline for a scenario, just to see if we get something sensible and interesting.

Weird Science Scenario Generator - Biology Edition

The following collection of random tables is my submission to the 2024 N@tO Tech Start-Up Jam. These tables can be used to create scenarios with a Weird Science theme, specifically ones that deal with biology, biotech and medicine. You won't get a fully playable scenario, but hopefully it's enough to get started or to serve as inspiration.

Types of Threats in Delta Green Scenarios

I looked at every official Delta Green scenario and tried to identify the main threat that the scenario is centered on and what "type" of threat it is. Why? I don't know. It could be useful for a random scenario generator, like Agent Obtuse's. Or maybe this sort of classification could be integrated in my scenario database and help with finding specific types of scenarios.

The Lynchburg Cluster - A Delta Green Mini Campaign

Over the past few months the 2024 Delta Green Mini Campaign Jam has taken place, where participants could submit a campaign of no longer than 30000 words. This jam was a good opportunity to finally work on my modern-day Karotechia campaign.

My Submission to the 2024 N@TO Scenario Contest

Over the last few months the 7th annual r/nightattheopera scenario contest took place. SirLordBaron's All Good Things won the people's choice vote, whereas my submission won the judges' vote!

My scenario is called The Sound of Doom, after a line in Gojira's The Chant. You can find the scenario here. Also, check out the other submissions in the contest document, they were all great.

Variants of the Withering Ritual

In Delta Green, Withering is the go-to spell to give enemy sorcerers some damage-dealing capabilities. However, all wizards having the same spell is boring. So here are some ideas for different flavors of Withering.
