One of my students died this weekend. He was out having fun, came home laid into his bed and died that night in his sleep. No drugs, no crime just fate, having an unidentified aneurysm which decided to pop that night.
Charming, intelligent sometimes chaotic 20 year old boy who had not have an easy life so far and was going to get his degree this term which woukd have allowed him to study.
He was always eager to learn, had always a smile on his lips and loved life.
R.I.P. D.I. I'm going to miss you.

As one of the hysterical women I'm pleased with the reaction at conventions that had been reported for the last weeks.
GDL who really seems to appreciate the effort and especially the fund-raising for CIN.
12.000 GBP is fantastic. One of the members showed us the way to the Muppets videos on You tube. Bohemian Rhapsodie by the Muppets... hilarious.

Torchwood, NCIS and TPTB

I have been a Torchwood fan from the first episode on which was aired very recently in germany.
Season 2 was even better, but than came COE. I read before about the homophobic atmosphere in which the relationship of Jack and Ianto was portrayed in COE but I couldn't believe it.
That was til I saw it myself. What way and with the death of Ianto Jones Torchwood is dead for me as well.

So I started to look around and at the wonderful savecoffeboy community (http://community.livejournal.com/savecoffeeboy) I found some amazing people and a great resource for Interviews with the cast.
You need to understand that in order to realize my shock over John Barrowmans pod cast in which he talks like RTD about 6 women who send coffee.
Hey there are more than 6 of us.
He also seems to think as long as Jack becomes another playmate for sex everything is going to be ok. for the fans.
How the mighty have fallen.
I did admired him greatly but after that pod cast were is little to none affection for him left.
The campaign has raised over 7.000 Great Britain Pound for Children in Need so far and is aiming to reach 10.000 GBP.
If nothing else at least that deserves respect. But no, TPTB try to laugh at these fans and now it seems to me that Mr. Barrowman has decided to do the same.
But there is one problem. If you don't respect your fans you might end up without any at all.
It's sad that Torchwood isn't the only serie I liked in the past that has been destroyed by TPTB. The same happened to Primevil and seems to happen in the new season of NCIS, at least if the rumors are true.
Whenever a fan base found a nice couple of interesting male leading characters ( no, not only cute ) one of these is either going to die or getting forced into a relationship with another female character.
Or both if I read the signs regarding Torchwoods future right.
But without me. I'm done, no more Torchwood and no more John Barrowman for me...
And if NCIS is going to become the Tiva show then I will be done there as well.

Torchwood

I have found a new Series: Torchwood. Here in Germany is now season 2 on the air. I fell strong and have began to read for spoilers. Now I'm really annoyed because of what happened in COE. I guess what's it for me. So 2 fantastic Season and when another meaningless death are going to bring that joy also to an end. What is it with producers that brings them to make such stupid decisions To make the thing perfect has the producer of Torchwood began to bash the fans who questions his decisions. Definitely not a wise decision. Fans don't own the program, but they keep people in their jobs by watching and buying and sometimes they decide not to watch or buy anything else that somebody is producing.

Primeval

I just read that the british series Primeval has been canceled.
Although I didn't liked season 3 ( they changed to much) I hoped that the next season would be better.
They were canceled because the costs where to high and the ratings were dropping. Guess what dear producers: If you permanent change the whole concept of the series and kill of the characters the fans love when they are going to stop watching eventually.
So I guess I have to be happy to have seen 2 fantastic season and a third season that had still some good episodes.
Here in Germany this decision is going to shock a lot of viewers, because the show has high ratings here.

I'm very sorry and disappointed to hear that the highest californian court has voted in favor of proposition 8.
I wish all of you the best of luck in overcoming this terrible mistake.
I hope that soon you all will get equal rights.

I come directly out of the cinema and let me tell you the new film sucks and not in a life affirming way. The characters are totally ooc and didn't touched me at all. The whole time I keep thinking wrong fandom. Animals on an ice planet chasing a character, a robot who has a word with the young kirk ( reminds me of cp3o) and a squeaking alien as a friend of Scotty. Does this reminds you of another fandom? For me it did. The whole film through I keep thinking that is Wars not Trek. An overly emotional Spock who seeks revenge for the death of his mother and the destruction of vulcan. A Bones who doesn't has any chemistry with Kirk or Spock. A crew which didn't interested me at all. No ironic banter between the main characters, just a few insider gags, which were too short and too few. No philosophy or moral, no ethic discussion, just digital effects and big gestures. If this is the future of Trek when by all means but without me and my money.

Job

It's official I'm going to loose 2/3 of my teaching hours beginning at 1st of april. It's no april fool but the bitter truth. I should have never been starting teaching because here in Germany it's all about " there is the straight line in your working development". Now with the economy down there is not much hope for me to find another school. So for the last week I started looking for alternatives. After all I have a university exam in economics and I have been teaching economics and social issues the last 7 years. So guess what. Due to the fact that I have been teaching for so long I'm considered to be useless to a "normal company". So I adjusted my goals and was looking for a middle position in accounting. No Ted jokes please. They don't want me due to the fact that I'm overqualified for this position due to my exam. So I'm facing rejection in all job matters.
My life really sucks at the moment and I hate it.
Sorry for the long rambling. I hope my english is not to bad and I could make my point clear.

I'm sick and terribly annoyed by the tv program. Trash and reality shows or casting shows and bad sentimental christmas movies.But late at night after midnight were are some treasures to be found. Old black and white movies with female characters that are more modern then in a lot of nowadays movies. Especially Bette Davies and Katherine Hepburn were fantastic. Now I'm thinking if anyone of the so called stars from today are going to have a lasting impression like that goddesses and my answer is NO. First of all they are to beautiful, there are no edges. Second botox, look at the male and female actors over the age of 25, most probably they have smooth faces which can not show a single emotion due to the botox injections they have received. And finally the books there are few films in the last years that are not an offense to an intelligent audience. I used to go to the movies once or twice a month but over the last two years that has become incredible difficulty although I'm lucky to live in a town with not one but two art house cinemas. Still there are only a few movies a year that a worth watching. So what is this observation saying about me. That I'm an old women (at the age of 38 years) complaining that in the past everything was better? I don't know, but it's my opinion that some things were better before the almighty american beauty cult expanded all over the world. So i'm of again to watching the incredible Katherine (Women of the year),YEAH.
