Setup Form Abandonment Features

Set up form abandonment features in Bit Form to track incomplete form submissions. This feature allows you to capture user data even if they don’t finish filling out the form, enabling follow-ups and improving conversion rates. Easily recover lost leads by reaching out to those who abandoned the form.

  1. To begin, you will need to either create a new form or utilize an existing one.
  2. Once you have your form ready, navigate to the Settings Section and select Form Abandonment.
  3. Enable the Form Abandonment  feature from here, as shown in the screenshot below –

This feature allows users to conveniently fill out and submit a form by accessing it from both their desktop and mobile devices. This means that users can start filling out the form on their desktop, save their progress, and then continue filling it out later from their mobile device. This provides flexibility and convenience for users who may need to switch between devices while completing the form.

Repopulate form fields with previous partial entries: If the user is logged in, the form will be repopulated with the previous partial entry from the database. Otherwise, from the local storage of the browser.

To use the feature that repopulates form fields with previous partial entries, you must enable “Save Draft” for logged-in users.

If a logged-in user starts filling out a form but doesn’t submit it, the next time they return to the form, their previous entries will automatically repopulate the fields.

In the video example above, I filled out three fields in the form, then navigated to another page. When I returned to the form, I saw that the three fields were already filled with my previous entries.

Save draft when the user leaves the form page: Form entries will be daft when the user moves from Form tab page to another or accidentally closes a tab.

Form Abandonment is browser-specific, and will not work in private browsing. If the user is logged in, his draft entries are added to the server. In that case, its entries can be repopulated.
