The word ‘meme’ means an edited picture from its very first or original creation. Our discussion is proposed for explaining the explicit and implicit meanings in the meme of ‘I Am Legend’ poster in which the image of Will Smith as the actor of the movie ‘I Am Legend’ is replaced by Ahok’s image and also there are some words added to this poster that has purpose to support Ahok’s role as the new governor in Jakarta. The theory that is used in this discussion is proposed by Roland Barthes while the method is qualitative-descriptive. From this meme, we can see that there are some issues regarding the role of Ahok as the new governor in Jakarta, Indonesia. In conclusion, our group finds out that Ahok has so many opponents and many people dislike him because of his background, such as race, religion and his characters that against the people who cause troubles in the development of Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. However, there are also people, including the creator of the meme, who support Ahok in government.

In this case, Javanese and Indonesian are having contact since there are speakers who acquire both Javanese and Indonesianaffect the non-Javanese speakers. The Javanese then become Indonesian when Indonesian speakers utter Javanese in their speaking.
