In this study, samples belonging to Hydrophilidae and Helophoridae families collected from Diyarbakır were evaluated. Samples were collected between May-September 2016 and April-October 2017 among plants and mosses in shallow parts of various streams, springs, streams, deposits and ponds. In the study area, 12 taxa (species) from 7 genera belonging to Hydrophilidae family and 10 taxa (species) from 1 genus belonging to Helophoridae families were determined. Among these species, Paracymus scutellaris (Rosenhauer, 1856), Anacaena lutescens (Stephens, 1829), Helophorus discrepans (Rey, 1885), Helophorus frater (d'Ochymont, 1926) were recorded for the first time in both the Southeastern Anatolia Region and the research area. In addition, E. (L.) fuscipennis (Thomson, 1884) and Hydrobius fuscipes (Linnaeus) were recorded for the first time only from the study area.

The aim of this study was to evaluate of the effect of 5% Polyethylene Glycol 4000 in the prevention of epidural fibrosis and to compare the results with hyaluronic acid. A total of 36 adult New Zealand White Rabbits were used in the study. Three groups were formed with each group including 12 rabbits (Group I: Control, Group II: 5% Polyethylene Glycol 4000, Group III: Hyaluronic acid). Hemilaminectomy was performed at L5 vertebrae on the right side. Three rabbits randomly selected from each group at postoperative 2nd, 4th, 8th and 12th week were euthanized. Macroscopic and histopathological evaluation were performed in terms of the amount of scar tissues. Statistical evaluation was made with Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal-Wallis Variance Analysis. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Three-dimensional modeling and morphometric investigation of computed tomography images of brown bear's (Ursus arctos) ossa cruris (Zeugopodium) Short title: Three-dimensional modeling and morphometric investigation of CT images of brown bear's (Ursus arctos) ossa cruris (Zeugopodium)

This study was carried out to determine the shape of the fox skull by the geometric morphometric method according to gender. For this purpose, four female and nine male fox skulls were used. The skulls were photographed from the dorsal and lateral aspects. Eleven homologous landmarks on the dorsal aspect and 19 homologous landmarks on the lateral aspect were marked on the photographs of the skull. Principal component analysis and Relative warp analysis were performed on the coordinate values of the images. In addition, MorphoJ software was used to determine the shape differences and directions of the landmarks. According to principal component analysis, male and female individuals were mainly concentrated to the y axis's right on lateral images, and female and male individuals were not concentrated in one region on dorsal images. Therefore, according to the principal component analysis, no significant gender difference was found. The consensus graph determined that the oral edge of the incisive tooth and the cranial edge of the canine tooth in females were ventrally directed compared to males. It is thought that the findings obtained as a result of the study will contribute to zooarchaeological and taxonomic research.

Yapılan çalışmada, foramen magnum ve condylus occipitalis' in türler arasındaki şekil analizi yapılarak dimorfik yapılarının ortaya konulması ve koyun-keçi arasındaki değişkenliklerinin belirlemesi amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmada toplam 81 (46 koyun, 35 keçi) kafatasından alınan veriler kullanıldı. Foramen magnum'un çerçeve şeklini belirlemek ve condylus occipitalis varyasyonunu anlamak için tip I (anatomik) ve tip III (semilandmark) landmarklardan faydalanıldı. Bulgular: Buna göre toplam şekil varyasyonunun PC1, PC2 ve PC3'ün sırasıyla %30.76, 14.94 ve 14.07'sini açıkladığı, PC1'e göre şekil varyasyonundan birincil derecede condylus occipitalis'i, ikincil derecede ise foramen magnum'un sorumlu olduğu belirlendi. PC2'ye göre sağ condylus occipitalis şekil varyasyonunu büyük oranda açıkladığı, PC3'te ise sağ condylus occipitalis'in tüm, sol condylus occipitalis'in en lateral köşesi ile foramen magnum'un sol kenarı şekil varyasyonunun açıklanmasına neden olduğu belirlendi. Diskriminant fonksiyon analizi sonucunda Procrustes ve Mahalanobis distance sırasıyla 0.12293879 (p<0.0001) ve 67.7482 (p<0.0044) olarak tespit edildi. Öneri: Sonuç olarak geometrik morfometri yöntemi, türler arası kafatası şeklindeki farklılıkları tespit etmek için kullanılabilir bir araç olduğu ve bu nedenle taksonomik, arkeolojik ve adli amaçlar için başarıyla kullanılabileceği düşünülmektedir.

Surgical operation was not primarily preferred since arteria labialis inferior artery was anatomically located on the maxillary area of the cow and there was a risk of heavy bleeding during operation.
