Kyoudai Ken Bycrosser Episodes 28-29

bycrosser-28-29-release

This time, we’ve got two episodes directed by Shohei Tojo, who directed several episodes of every Sentai series from Sun Vulcan to Ohranger.

Episode 28 kicks off the final arc of the show, where Destar puts their plans for world domination on hold, and just focuses on defeating the Bycrossers. This episode is also written by Sato Shigeru. It’s got a silly yet somehow threatening monster, who is also the only Destar Robo in this series to kill people.

Episode 29 is a pretty good one too. It’s written by Takaku Susumu, who can do no wrong as far as this show’s concerned. It’s got not just one, but two monsters!

After this, only 5 episodes remaining. I didn’t think I’d get this far, honestly.

Oddly enough, the whole “Villain gets wings, only to be tormented by a talking crow, and then have an identity crisis” plot was actually used in an episode of Machineman also written by Sugimura. No kidding.

…And we’re back! Sorry about a 3-month gap, only to give you two episodes. College kind of eats time.

Today’s episodes are both directed by Okunaka Atsuo. 26 is written by Takaku Susumu, so it’s pretty much standard fare for this show. The child actor is all right for her age too.

Episode 27, though, is a really good episode, probably up there with 7 for best-written. The plot is a pretty common amnesia stock plot, but with some solid writing by Sugimura and great acting from Ushio Kenji, this may be one of the more heartwarming episodes.

In other news, I’m on a podcast! In particular, “Rider Jump” by the TOH Network. So keep your eyes and ears peeled for that when it comes out.
