The latest version of BestPractice is 1.0.3 as you mentioned as well in your question. I don't know where that version comes from but it's probably an error.
If you please, open a ticket and report the error while clicking the following link. I believe the support team will take a look to spot the issue with the version as well.
According to the information found on the official website, Windows 10 appears to be an unsupported version. These are the system requirements provided for Best Practice:
Runs on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows 7*
Both 32 bit and 64 bit Operating Systems are supported ("Home" versions are not supported)
Yes, the software will run on Windows 10, but with a condition: to have a physical CD-ROM device installed to your PC or a virtual CD drive application, something like Daemon Tools.
If you launch the software without any of those mentioned above, then the program will crash and display an error. This is also specified on the official website of the developer.
