Bermuda Pride celebrates and supports the LGBTQ+ community of our island — through visibility, connection, advocacy, and the joy of being exactly who you are.
Bermuda Pride was born from decades of quiet resilience and courageous advocacy. On 31 August 2019, more than 6,000 people flooded the streets of Hamilton for the island's first-ever Pride parade — a moment of extraordinary collective power for a community that had long worked in the shadows.
Organised by OUTBermuda, the island's leading LGBTQ+ charity, Pride has grown every year into a week-long series of events that celebrate identity, challenge discrimination, and raise vital funds for year-round community programmes including bursaries, counselling, and the Outlet youth support group.
What makes Bermuda Pride unique is its deeply local character — intimate enough that "the police officers are literally our cousins," as one community member described it, yet powerful enough to inspire Bermudians across the diaspora to come home.
The signature march through the streets of the capital — the most powerful, visible expression of community solidarity that Bermuda has ever seen.
A first-of-its-kind Pride art exhibition at the Bermuda Society of Arts, featuring queer Bermudian artists exploring liberation, freedom, and joy.
Community members share poetry, spoken word, music, and stories in an intimate evening celebrating queer voices and creative expression.
An extravagant celebration of drag artistry, music, and community over brunch. One of the most beloved annual Pride Week traditions.
Conversations on LGBTQ+ rights, mental health, intersectionality, and the future of queer life in Bermuda led by activists and community leaders.
Film screenings, social evenings, fundraisers, and community meet-ups throughout Pride Week. Every event supports OUTBermuda's year-round programmes.
The 2025 theme is a call to action — a reminder that Pride is more than a celebration. It is a movement rooted in activism, resilience, and collective strength. Every queer Bermudian, every ally, and every person who believes in equality has a place in this movement.
The theme reinforces that Pride fuels year-round work: advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, providing critical support services, funding bursaries for queer students, and running Outlet — a support group for young people and allies.
As Executive Director Joshua Samuels explains: "Pride is more than an annual event — it fuels our year-round work advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and providing critical support services."
"Our strength lies in our diversity, and together, we are shaping Bermuda's future."
Bermuda's LGBTQ+ community has faced significant legal challenges. Pride funds advocacy work that pushes for equal protections, anti-discrimination legislation, and dignity under the law for all Bermudians.
Pride Week fundraising directly supports OUTBermuda's counselling services, crisis resources, and Outlet — a safe space for LGBTQ+ young people and allies across the island.
Pride supports queer Bermudian students through bursaries and educational programmes that open doors — especially for those whose families may not be supportive of their identity.
Many LGBTQ+ Bermudians have left the island. Pride is an invitation to come home — to find that Bermuda belongs to them too, and that the community has grown stronger in their absence.
From drag performances to queer art exhibitions, Pride celebrates and platforms LGBTQ+ creative voices — telling Bermuda's queer stories through music, visual art, and spoken word.
Bermuda Pride has always been for everyone who believes in equality. Straight allies, families, and community leaders stand alongside LGBTQ+ Bermudians in the streets of Hamilton every year.
A regular safe-space gathering for LGBTQ+ young people and their allies across Bermuda. Facilitated by trained volunteers, Outlet provides peer support, community, and connection for young people navigating their identities in a small island community where privacy can be hard to find.
Academic bursaries for LGBTQ+ Bermudian students pursuing further education. Pride Week fundraising goes directly towards helping queer young people access the opportunities they deserve — regardless of whether their families are supportive of who they are.
OUTBermuda connects community members to affirming counselling and mental health support. LGBTQ+ people in Bermuda face elevated rates of anxiety, depression, and isolation — particularly younger people. Funded in part by Pride, these services provide a critical lifeline.
Workshops, resources, and public engagement that build understanding of LGBTQ+ issues across Bermudian society — in schools, workplaces, faith communities, and government. Pride strengthens the knowledge base that makes lasting cultural change possible.
