Just returned from a fantabulous long weekend in London with evildrem, jhava, crowie, pat_t, mogwai_do! There was much fangirling and fandom pimping and laughing and general mayhem. :)

Friday and Saturday we all attended The Vampire Ball. Awesome con! Nicky Brendon gives GREAT hugs! :D Also, J. August Richards was a surprise guest, and he's really lovely. As were all of the other guests. :) And yes, we did all dress up for the ball on Saturday night. Pictures may follow..... ;)

Sunday we went to The Globe Theater to see Dr. Faustus with Arthur Darvill:

I really loved it, and such a beautiful theater! The weather was perfect for it, too. :)

There was also a visit from bigtitch, joining us for Doctor Who and Merlin on Saturday. She was instrumental in getting my hat secured to my head for the ball, and sweetie? You rock! It stayed on all night!!! :D

I understand that Joe Flanagan was also at a con in London this weekend. Sadly, we were not at the same con. But hey, we were in the same city at the same time, so I guess that's an improvement.....

Unfortunately I now have to try to get my body back on US time so that I can get up and go to work tomorrow. *big sigh*

I spent yesterday with selannia and bleukittie at Farpoint con in Timonium, Maryland. We booked tickets back in July when the guests were to be Adam Baldwin and John Billingsley. Since then they both had to cancel. (I swear Adam is avoiding me, as this is the second con he's canceled that I was attending.) But the show must go on, and the Farpoint folks rounded up some pretty awesome replacements. Photo evidence is below.

Tahmoh PenikettCollapse )

Bonita FriedericyCollapse )

Laurie HoldenCollapse )

Tahmoh is a sweetheart. When I went to get his autograph, I noticed he had a stack of photos from Riverworld on his table, so I asked him how he enjoyed working with Peter Wingfield. (Once a HL fan, always a HL fan!) He said Peter was great! They all got along really well on set, and in fact, would be seeing him very soon. I asked him if they were going to work on another project together, and he said no, they were getting together with some other people to go out for drinks! :)

Bonita is a hoot! I gotta admit, I have never seen an episode of Chuck. But it seems I've seen her in eleventy million other things. And she was a natural to fill in for John Billingsley, because she's his wife! When we walked into her Q&A, she had him on her cell phone in front of a microphone, so he could talk to us. And seriously, that man has an evil laugh. *g* Bonita is a non-stop bundle of wacky. The picture above happened when someone asked her a question for John, and she held up a Doctor Phlox action figure when she answered. ;)

Laurie Holden is currently playing Andrea in The Walking Dead. This was the first con she's ever done, aside from ComicCon, so this was a whole new experience for her.

In other con news, Tricia Helfer has been added to the already awesome lineup of guests for this year's Shore Leave, so yay!

Also, I have booked myself a ticket to The Vampire Ball in September. Yay for flying back across the pond to hang with the UK peoples! :D
