During a conversation with evildrem on Friday afternoon, I became aware of the National Theater Live program. It seems that there are British theater productions being beamed in HD directly to theaters around the UK and internationally! After poking around the NT Live website I found that one of these venues is the National Shakespeare Theater in Washington DC. Which is only maybe 25 miles away. And for the low, low price of $20 per ticket! What's this mean? This means that the husband and I and selannia are all going to see Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Lee Miller in Frankenstein on April 23rd! And according to evildrem's review of the play here, there is LOTS of the lovely Mr. Cumberbatch to see. *g*

I was THREE FEET from David Tennant last night! Hamlet is fantastic, and David is amazing. We had really good seats, although why is it that every time I sit down to a show or a con or anything like that, the tallest person with the largest head in the room sits down in front of me? Happens ever time, I swear. ;)

I found the RSC theater experience to be more laid back than theater in America. At the National Shakespeare Theater in DC, there is no taking beverages or food into the theater with you. And if you get up to go to the bathroom, you may not be let back in until intermission, or at least until there's a convenient break in the performance. Last night, I saw several people get up and leave, and come back in at various times. And at intermission, everyone runs out to get ice cream, and bring it back in with them. Awesome! I should write a letter to our theater company, and tell them to lighten up a bit. :)

We're having a fantastic time on vacation. Our camera decided not to work anymore the moment we arrived, but we bought a new one, and have been taking a bazillion pictures. I can't wait to show them to you. :)

Off to Warick Castle this morning, and then on to Bath. Later!
