I know it's been like, three weeks, but I thought I'd post a few of my memories of Pegasus 2 in London:
The person who brought cans of Play Dough to our table at the Meet & Greet should get an award! Scathingly brilliant idea. Kept us all busy creating a whole host of very strange things, and gave all of the guests something unique to talk to us about. Ivy Isenberg even grabbed some dough and started making stuff, too. :D
David Hewlett is a lovely, lovely man. I watched as he greeted each person in line for his autograph, or to get a photograph with him, and he consistently used those few moments to make it special for each and every one. *points to icon* He's just a total love.
Aaron Douglas was a total surprise, and within a very few moments joined the ranks of my TV boyfriends. He's way cuter than the Chief. :D
Teh Hewlett and his family showed up in the restaurant for lunch both days while we were there. (We teased him about stalking us.) So yeah, I have watched David Hewlett eat a sandwich. I am a sad and pathetic fangirl. ;)
Dan Payne and David Nykl doing "YMCA". And while we're on the subject, CON DANCES! I mean, seriously, What. The. Fuck? ;D
Visiting evildrem in her natural habitat. She introduced me to Black Books, and I will never be the same. *g*
Hanging out with jhava, bigtitch, sidhe_woman, ms_maree, and _hedgewytch_ at chez jhava. You know you're good friends when you can sit and watch gay porn together while eating dinner. =D
Pegasus2 - let me start at the end. The scratchy thing in the back of my throat on Sunday had blossomed into a cold by Monday morning. I said goodbye to jhava and took a taxi to the airport. I find the check in queue for Virgin Atlantic, and after a while I notice this cute guy, kinda familiar looking, join the line. Then I see the tiny woman standing next to him, and realize this is Erin Chambers and her husband. A couple minutes later, who should join the queue but Aaron Douglas. And you know how these lines keep folding back and forth? I kept passing right by him. I texted evildrem, who said I should talk to him, but not wanting to come off as a scary fangirl, I attempted to blend into the floor instead. ;) I passed him again in line at security, but that was the last I saw of him, as his flight to Miami was boarding, and I was heading to D.C. *sigh*
My flight was very smooth, but very long, and made even more so by the four crying babies surrounding me. By the time I landed, I felt like crap, and was dreaming of getting home and into bed. Unfortunately, the husband wasn't there to pick me up. It was the coldest day of the year, and he had a flat tire! He tells me to take a cab home, which I do....but remember half way there that I don't have my house key. So, me and my head cold have to wait on the front porch until the husband gets his tire fixed and gets home to let me in. About half an hour or so. And did I mention the coldest day of the year part? I've spent most of my time since in bed with the kitties and a bottle of Nyquil.
In other news, I got the word on Sunday morning that Dad was in the hospital with chest pains. His condition has been up and down ever since, and now his kidneys are failing. If I disappear, it's because I've had to make a quick trip home.
I emailed the Wolf Events people yesterday to see if they have mailed out the tickets yet for Peg2. I explained that since I will be traveling from the US, and that since mail between the UK and the US can sometimes be horribly slow, I was a bit paranoid about my tickets not arriving before I leave on the 29th. I got a lovely email back saying that no, they haven't been mailed out yet, but that if I wanted, they would email me the letter that would normally be sent along with the tickets, and hold my tickets at registration. That way I'll have all of the information I'll need, and don't have to worry about the mail. They rock! Any of you who will also be flying in from the US might want to do the same.
Thanks to whatever wonderful person who sent me misteltoe and big smooches from "John Sheppard and those Highlander boys"! I can't think of anything better than meeting John, Methos, and Duncan under the mistletoe. *g*
I watched the last two eps of Torchwood last night, and let me just say, "OMGSQUEEE!" I can't believe we have to wait...what, nine months?...to see what happens next! Or maybe not...how long until the next Dr. Who episodes? And does anyone have any info regarding whether Torchwood will ever air in the US? I mean, the subject matter is all SciFi Channel, but the content is more ShowTime. I see it having problems fitting in on either one. And the last thing I'd want is for SciFi to take it and edit it all to hell.
Due to successful pimping from evildrem and evildrem while in Leeds, I will most definitely be there! No guests announced yet, as it's still very far away, but I don't care! bigtitch, evildrem, and jhava will be there, so the GOH's will just be icing on the cake! *does Snoopy dance*
So, who wants to show me London while I'm there? Can we get in trouble? =D
ETA: I want to go to the party! Should we book now, or what?
