The Agriculture Water Infrastructure (AWP) Program

Climate Agri-Solutions Fund

The Climate Agri-Solutions Fund (CAF) helps farmers tackle climate change by adopting beneficial management practices.

Beneficial Management Practices

BMP is an on-farm, cost-shared incentive program to assist farmers and ranchers mitigate environmental risks.

Environmental Farm Plan

The Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) program supports producers by identifying risks and opportunities on their farm and ranches.

HR for Ag Employers

The Human Resources for Agriculture Employers Program (AgHR) equips agriculture employers in BC with the knowledge to create and maintain the right HR policies for their business.

Livestock Waste Tissue

The Livestock Waste Tissue Initiative (LWTI) assists BC’s abattoirs and meat processors improve the accessibility and affordability of waste disposal.

Novel Tools & Technology for HPAI

The Novel Tools & Technology for HPAI Prevention Pilot (NTT) provides funding for commercial poultry farms to adopt new technologies and tools.

Summer Student Bursary

Summer Student Farm, Food and Fisheries Bursary (SSB) is for secondary and post-secondary students planning to work in BC’s agriculture and food sector this summer.

Traceability Adoption

The Traceability Adoption Program (TAP) provides funding to BC agriculture and food to improve traceability systems.

Current Initiatives

Food Security Initiative

The Food Security Initiative (FSI) is an up to $120 million fund comprised of 10 unique programs. FSI was developed to create meaningful improvements to BC’s food security system from food production to community capacity building and food access for people in need.

Funding for this initiative has been provided by the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The initiative is delivered by IAF.

Agriculture and Food Workforce Development Initiative

The Agriculture and Food Workforce Development Initiative (AWDI) is an up to $15 million fund designed to support BC’s agriculture industry to provide a stable and increasing food supply through targeted efforts to recruit and retain a sufficient workforce to meet the labour needs of the industry.

Funding for this initiative has been provided by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement. The initiative is delivered by IAF.
