[Pop Up Window Defining Clue Types]
Set #1 - Leapfrog
Each answer consists of two separate words that go together, like LEAP and FROG. The series of letters given in each clue alternate back and forth between the two words, but the number of letters before the word switches varies each time. Each letter is used only once in each clue, and each word is spelled in order once it starts.
EXAMPLE: T P L R A D A C I E N G S = TRADING PLACES
Set #2 - Strike Out
Take out one letter from each of the words listed to reveal a single answer that reads left to right. Answer categories are given as hints, and each entry is two words long.

Answer categories: Store, Athlete, Conductor, Podcast
E.  PLEA NEST MONKEY
Set #3 - Hidden Word Removed
In the sentences below, the answer word has been replaced with a pair of ellipses ("..."), with a clue for the answer being given at the end of the sentence. The answer word overlaps between two different words in each sentence.
EXAMPLE: The army general had not expected t...tack, and his soldiers also underestimated the impact of the area's high temperature.
ANSWER: HEAT (clued by "high temperature," completing the missing portion of the sentence to read "had not expected tHE ATtack")
Set #4 - Run Through
The answer to each clue on the right is found running through the phrase on the left, although the letters for each answer are not consecutive. The answer will always run through from left to right.
EXAMPLE: LEGAL TENDER / Frontrunner = LEADER
N.  FADING STAR / Secondary, private social-media account for photos or short videos
Set #5 - Suggestagram
In the three words for each clue, two are hints that suggest the answer, while one is an anagram of the answer.

R.  TRES JAZZ RIOT
Set #6 - Outer Trigrams
Re-arrange the trigrams into an order that makes a common phrase. The first and last two letters of the phrase will form the answer word.

U.  HET NTI OWN NGT PAI
Set #7 - Missed Connections
Each answer is a standard crossword clue with some letters missing. The missing letters, when entered in order, spell out the answer to the clue.

Y.  _ nc _ nsequen _ i_ l bit
Set #8 - Equations
Corresponding to the chart above, each letter is represented by a number that is the sum of the gray numbers on each side. For example, 2 is E (1+1), and 5 could be U (4+1) or C (3+2). Each clue below includes two connected words that are added together to make a longer word or phrase, and one subtraction word that, upon removing all of its letters from the longer word/phrase, reveals the answer.
Example: 98811 + 9277 - 11892 = DOLL (numbers convert to DOOR + BELL - ROBE, DOORBELL with the letters R, O, B, and E erased from it gives DOLL)
