I think once I finish my DC Minibang, I'll pump out my Team Gold Exchange fic (which should be a simple matter since I've got it all plotted out and stuff), and then I need to get my ass in gear on the STBB. I also still need a title for this D/C MB, because "that roadtrip story with lots of family drama and porn (but not at the same time)" is not really cutting it anymore.

The deancasbigbang Mini Bang artist/author reveals have been posted! I was picked by the infinitely talented and awesome spacefragments and really, have had the best luck in big bangs in general so yay! It looks like maychorian is doing road trip fic too, so that should be interesting (though it is gen).

blindfold_spn is currently open for prompts still (though that period will be closing in the near future) so if you have the desire for something kinktastic, head on over and prompt! If I had more time/energy/didn't have to work on a million other projects, I would head over there and fill some myself. Maybe I still will if I need a break or something.

castielfest I'm really glad I didn't sign up for this, given the incredible fullness of my calendar already. But apparently there will be a Spawn of Casfest commentfic thing, so maybe I will participate in that if I get the chance? I am also glad I didn't sign up for any of the bingos going around because... oy vey.

I have to admit that the au_bingo looks awfully tempting, but a quick review of my stories in progress list (and general project list that I haven't really started work on yet) tells me I should stay far, far away. Still, if it sounds interesting to you, I highly suggest you check it out--it seems fun.

There's been a lot of discussion in metafandom about the Hurt/Comfort genre, primarily brought up because of hc_bingo. Interesting stuff. I don't read or write H/C so I'm not going to weigh in on the subject, but food for thought and I recommend people check out the links if they are more interested in H/C than me.

There's also kink_bingo and schmoop_bingo floating around. Again, not of interest to me (I do write schmoop on occasion and I enjoy writing kink, but I'm not interested in writing a whole bingo card worth of it) but if you're looking for prompts in pretty much any genre, there's certainly no shortage of inspiration out there. Oh yeah, and horrorbigbang is out there in case you're not already Banged out.

All of these challenges are pan-fandom so feel free to jump in. I read some interesting fics in the apocabigbang that weren't SPN or any other fandom I usually read in (the one that jumps to mind is a Winnie the Pooh one). Sometimes it's nice to get out of the often crazy/wanktastic fandom of SPN (I say that with affection) and be reminded of what other fandoms are out there.

In writing related news, I have begun plotting out my story for deancasbigbang. I've got a scene by scene breakdown of the story and I keep forgetting it only needs to be 10,000 words. Somehow, I suspect it will be rather longer than that. I've even crafted a summary of sorts in preparation for the art claiming:

It's five years in the future, and Dean has settled down into a job as a mechanic and a semi normal life in an apartment (he and Lisa are no longer together). Dean and Castiel are in an established relationship of sorts, and it's Dean's birthday. Dean gets lunch with Ben, dinner with Sam, and sex with Cas. Two days later, Dean decides to take a roadtrip to visit Sam while he hunts in Oklahoma. After they get there, Dean decides to extend the roadtrip to the Grand Canyon. Castiel accompanies him and Dean is forced to confront some of their relationship issues.

TL;DR: Dean and Cas take a roadtrip.

Yes, no, maybe so? I only have a few days left to tweak it since I'll be traveling on the date it's actually due. Note to self, due dates:
-June 23 - rec day NC-17
-June 25 - summary due/final check in (email the summary before I leave the state)
-July 7 (Wednesday) - rough draft due. Once again will be traveling, email before I go.
-July 15 - Posting schedule is revealed
