Friends With Courage

I wrote a short story based upon one of my long running Mage: the Ascension chronicles: Sliders. I was motivated to write it because of the Onyx Path Publishing Fiction Contest, it is free to read. The story follows John Johnson, a character I created, partly based upon a fusion of two characters created by my friend Damian. Later, Damian played John. This story also involves John Courage and hopefully it lives up to that legend.

John Johnson is an awakened clone who escaped from the Technocratic Union with his uplifted canine companion, Vanja. John now operates as freelance trouble-shooter, specializing in Union operations. John partly hides with one foot in John Courage’s shadow. John’s latest mission in Aberdeen, Scotland, requires him to decide on what data to trust. With Vanja’s assistance, maybe John can figure out who are members of The Friends of Courage.

#RPGaDay2025 Brazilian Portuguese

It is nearly August, so once again a time for #RPGaDay, a month of positive posts about role-playing games. David F Chapman (@autocratik) and Anthony Boyd (@Runeslinger) return again this year to bring us #RPGaDay2025. There are always interesting answers, so I look forward to it each year. I am thinking about doing what I’ve done before, giving two answers, 1) whatever a prompt promotes, plus 2) a Street Fighter or Mage response.

The announcement blog posts are:https://www.autocratik.com/2025/07/announcing-rpgaday2025-in-august.html & https://castingshadowsblog.com/2025/07/07/rpgaday2025-launches-on-august-1st/. Here is the Brazilian Portuguese translation, by myself and Eric Souza 🙂 I have also made Brazilian Portuguese version of the event graphic.

RWBY for SFRPG

I was contacted by Humble Writer, The Linguist about their RWBY supplement for Street Fighter. I have heard of RWBY, but I’ve not watched it yet; so many great things and so little time. From the RWBY Wikipedia page:

It is set in the fictional world of Remnant, where young people train to become warriors (“Huntsmen” and “Huntresses”) to protect their world from monsters called Grimm. The name RWBY is derived from the four main protagonists’ forenames: Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long, and their respective thematic colors (red, white, black and yellow).

As I don’t know the lore, so I cannot comment on the accuracy of this supplement, but I can definitely comment on the effort that has been put in. At 72 pages, the creator has clearly put a lot of energy into creating the supplement. The setting prioritises weaponry over unarmed combat, which makes sense given the stakes of the world of Remnant. This is definitely worth a look, lots of the new ideas and mechanics for Street Fighter, such as weapons, traits, styles, Special Maneuvers, plus also Semblances. Another lovely addition to SFRPG (SF:tSG). Even if you don’t intend to play a game set in Remnant, a group can always add RWBY characters or Semblance to their existing games. Download the PDF from their website.

SFRPG Killer Instinct Updates

Killer Instinct Updates, Eric has added Regeneration to Eyedol and has also added a Power Point cost to the Special Maneuver Elemental Embrace of Elemental (Fire) 5. Killer Instinct.
