Globally, as of 26 June 2020 there have been over 9, 413, 280 confirmed cases of corona virus including 482, 730 deaths. This paper assessed the challenges facing World Health Organization in the 21st century particularly on COVID-19 pandemic. The study adopts descriptive research design. A secondary source such as newspapers, reports, published and unpublished journals was utilized. The data was subjected base on thematic content analysis and categorization in line with the research objectives. The study findings confirmed that the way and manner World Health Organization handle COVID-19 has caused internal political crisis across the globe. For instance, protest in Brazil, Nigeria, US among others over the eased of lockdown and stay at home policies. The study findings also indicate that America and Madagascar officially withdrew their membership because they criticized World Health Organization as acting likes political organization. Brazil also threatened to pull out over ideological bias. Therefore, the study concluded that medical crisis, lack of fund, racism among others have been trailing within World Health Organization. The study recommends that world attention should be focus on regional health agencies in order to end globalization and isolationism.

More than 6, 799, 713 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the globe with 397,388 deaths. In Tanzania, the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected the lives of millions of people hence increase the financial burdens in the areas of the agriculture sector, health, hospitality, tourism, education, and Banking sector among others. This paper assessed the political, economic, and social of impact of COVID-19 in Tanzania as well as the Strategy adapted to Mitigating the scourge of the virus. A secondary source (reports, newspapers and Magazines) was utilized as evidence; which were analyzed thematically. The data was subjected to thematic content analysis and categorization in line with the objectives of the study. The findings of this study revealed that Tanzanian government is handling the COVID-19 Pandemic in such a way that the country comes first and above everything else. Trade and tourism are seriously affected with more than 60 per cent of Tanzanians at risk of losing their jobs due to COVID-19 Pandemic. Lastly, the government limits the number of passengers from public transports and also reduced schedule for domestic flights. The findings contribute significantly to future research on the COVID-19 challenges on African political economy.

In Africa, particularly Kenya and Nigeria as the low number of cases is increasing on daily basic which affect the economy of the two countries. This paper achieved the following objectives to examine the genesis of Covid-19, to analyze the political and economic undertones of Covid-19, to investigate the affect of Covid-19 on social lives and to examine measures taken in addressing Covid-19between Kenya and Nigeria. This research adopted a descriptive research design as it was found appropriate for the study. A secondary data was considered as the main instrument for data collection. Data was collected from Newspapers, Journals and Reports among others. The data collected was analyzed based on the thematic content analysis. The conceptual data was transcribed and categorized in line with the objectives of the study. The findings of this paper revealed that COVID-19 outbreak creates substantial additional strain on already overburdened social service delivery systems, exacerbating the vulnerabilities of the populations affected. World Bank is bringing out a quick-track $14 billion plan to improve the reaction to COVID-19 in developing countries and shorten the time for recovery. Another finding showed that Kenya and Nigeria banned public gathering in churches, Mosque, Schools and restriction of traveling from one state to another to curtail the spread of the COVID-19. This paper is important as it enriches the politics of COVID-19 not only in Kenya and Nigeria but also across the globe.
