The number of patients with pain has increased globally, due to the increase in the complexity of the pain and its classifications. Despite pain’s high prevalence and economic impact, this phenomenon is not well investigated and understood. Understanding the concept of adult, non-cancer pain via the Specificity Theory and the Gate Control Theory of Pain is critical for professionals to expand the understanding of pain and ensure the best care. The purpose of this integrative review paper was to conduct a concept identification and analysis on pain through analyzing the existing literature. As the literature was reviewed, three major concepts emerged. Suffering, discomfort, and coping were the most frequent concepts that emerged, which is consistent with several studies of different populations, utilizing quantitative and qualitative methods. As pain concept is relevant to patient car...

Self-care is key to chronic disease management and is substantially important in all aspects of health and levels of care. In the past years, research regarding self-care in the context of chronic disease has evolved, yet this complex concept continues to be ambiguous as there are differences in the way self-care is clearly conceptualized in the literature. A discussion of an in-depth concept analysis of self-care in the older adult population with chronic disease and an outline of its defining common attributes, referents, antecedents, consequences, and related concepts.DesignQualitative concept analysis concerning the concept of self-care in the older adult population with chronic disease.MethodsAn extensive review of the literature concerning the concept of self-care in the older adult population with chronic disease was conducted using different databases. Literature from nursing and other disciplines was selected to differentiate this concept from other related concepts. Rodgers's evolutionary methodology of concept analysis was used to investigate the concept of self-care in detail to better understand its meanings in the context of chronic disease.ResultsMultiple definitions of self-care exist, and a consensus definition was not shown to have been achieved across disciplines. The common attributes, referents, antecedents, consequences, and related concepts were identified, and a model case was constructed by the authors to clarify the concept of self-care in the context of the older adult population living with chronic disease. This concept analysis provides a theoretical definition of self-care of the older adult population living with chronic disease to offer nurses and others insight into the concept, which will ultimately provide a foundation for further research needed in the areas of clinical practice, policy, and education. Identification of the core of the self-care concept affords professionals and researchers the ability to identify appropriate practice priorities, enhance current practices, and develop theories and guidelines regarding self-care, leading to improvements in patient care and outcomes.

Widely regarded as a major public health issue, it occurs across cultures, nations, ethnicities and religions, posing a threat to the health, general well-being, and human rights of children and young adults worldwide (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund [UNICEF], 2021). Child marriage is defined as any formal marriage or informal union between a child under the age of 18 years old and an adult or another child (UNICEF, 2021). It is widely viewed as a human rights abuse that violates several international basic human rights norms, such as the right to enter freely into marriage through the giving of 'free and full' consent, and the right to bodily and sexual integrity (United Nations Development Program [UNDP], 2015). In order to protect these rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), the Convention on Consent to Marriage, Minimum Age for Marriage and Registration of Marriages (1964), Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (1979) and the Convention on the

Many countries permit induced abortion, or the deliberate termination of pregnancy, for various reasons e.g., as a means of contraception, as part of a woman's right to autonomy, or as part of a woman's right to determine the number of children she will bear. Even in Islamic countries, which hold strong religious laws and beliefs, it has been announced that abortion may be permissible before or after the period of "ensoulment" in certain circumstances and on medical grounds, so as to safeguard women from serious problems that might put their lives at risk. However, some religious groups do not support abortion. Therefore, it is critical to explore Islam's position on the prohibition or allowance of induced abortion.

In today’s society, adolescent populations oftentimes experience a lot of stressful situations and challenges regarding self-identity, sexuality, drugs, schoolwork, and social life. School nurses are in a position to reach a large number of adolescents, recognize their problem, and foster their general well- being and educational success.
