In a global sense, education can be summarized at an elementary level as relating to an experience or act that has a productive effect on an individual’s mind, character or physical strength. Likewise, education develops a particular process that may or not have a long-lasting effect on individuals’ mental faculties. Within a contemporary context, learning occurs in distinctive environments, including elementary schools, high schools, colleges, community’s educational activities, seminaries, and especially at home. On the contrary, regarding the cultural and social background, it can be seen as a methodology in which society transfers its assembled knowledge, values and abilities from one generation to another. Education also plays a crucial role to intellectual freedom, allowing every individual to examine and express their thoughts towards social issues without any restriction. For this matter, citizens’ constructive knowledge has an important duty on developing a country because it enables to comprehend and develop an inherent beneficial relationship within communities and ecosystems. Despite arguments that learning was confined to schools and colleges, education could contribute to developing global citizens because such process would help individuals to cultivate multicultural literacy, would guide citizens to exam injustice, and would develop strategies for improving communities in their nations, and would empower citizens’ knowledge to surpass social barriers.

For example, African-Americans are not treated as equal as many other races. Some people think that the U.S laws are discriminatory because structural racism limits the life chances of black people according to their race. As a result, African-Americans are victims of certain barriers, such as having a high-quality education. For instance, according to the Nation’s Report Card, only seven percent of black students performed above proficiency in Mathematics, in comparison to a third of whites. It also shows that black students are placed in schools with an extremely number of poor people while Asian are usually in middle-class school (National Assessment of Educational Program, 2013). On the other side of the issue, other people say that the U.S policies are not discriminatory. For instance, according to urban studies director at the City University of New York’s School of Professional Studies, African-Americans could use the U.S laws to leave neighborhoods and get into schools that they could not get in the past years. It helped most of black middle-class folks, as well (NY’s School of Professional Studies). In some cases, the lack of knowledge allows black people to manifest themselves in order to provoke conflicts among different races and obtain more benefits than they could get by themselves. Overall, fields as schooling, profit-making, and equal opportunities have been a long-term issue between whites and blacks.

Some people assume that using body cameras and displaying the footage to the public will help establish social confidence in how agents perform their jobs. According to the Washington Post (May 2015), it shows that hiding the videos from community will only provoke mistrust and polemic theories in regards to what they really show (Marshall, Adam). For instance, after Michael Slager, a thirty-three years old while agent in South Carolina, shot Walter Scott, an unarmed fifty years old African-American man, he was dismissed from the force and demanded with murder, thanks to a released cell phone footage by Feidin Santana. Even though, the agent tried to camouflage the situation, he had no other choice, but assume his action.
