Dr. Mannan is a Professor of Management at Bangladesh Open University. He has also served as a faculty member and subject specialist at three private universities. Dr. Mannan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, an MBA in Human Resource Management, and a Ph.D. in Public Private Partnership in Higher Education from the University of Dhaka. In addition to his expertise in management and human resources, Dr. Mannan is well known for his research on PPP and participative management. A significant portion of his research has been devoted to public-private partnerships, but he has also written extensively on issues of performance management, knowledge management, participative management, and the knowledge economy. Involved in ADB-funded public-private partnership projects in higher education.

Throughout his distinguished eighteen-year academic career, he has been deeply engaged with various international projects, particularly in India, Australia, Malaysia, and the United States. Concurrently with his university teaching, he has provided expert managerial consulting services to esteemed organizations within the IT and security sectors. As a management consultant and strategic planner, he has collaborated with diverse businesses and non-profit organizations to develop comprehensive plans, conduct job analyses, craft job descriptions, and perform performance and management audits. His leadership and initiative were pivotal in integrating Strategic Management, Fundamentals of Management, and Business Communication courses into the MBA curricula at Bangladesh Open University and several esteemed private universities. He has also taught these courses as an adjunct faculty member at various private institutions for an extended period.

This study aims to discover the perceptions of the critical success factors (CSFs) of the public ... more This study aims to discover the perceptions of the critical success factors (CSFs) of the public and private sectors' players that influence the implementation of public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects in Bangladesh. Methods: A questionnaire survey was adopted to discover public and private sector players' perceptions of the CSFs and success subfactors (SSF) of PPP projects. Based on the literature review, CSFs and SSFs were identified, and the agreement between respondents from the public and private sectors was tested. A total of 59 responses were collected and examined to reveal the perceived gaps between sectors and rank CSFs and SSFs. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used. The results show that the top-ranking factor was "economic viability", followed by "appropriate risk allocation", "sound financial packages", "favorable investment environment", and "reliable concessionaire". It was also found that the perceptions of the public and private sectors were mixed. The key conclusion of this study is that the identified factors must be effectively addressed in order to develop consensus and engage relevant stakeholders in Bangladesh.

Teacher Education Programs with Blended Education at Bangladesh Open University: An Assessment of Learners’ Use of Social Media

Social media (SM), a platform where people can share, exchange, and communicate their ideas and k... more Social media (SM), a platform where people can share, exchange, and communicate their ideas and knowledge, has been the part of human's life and has become the new trend in communication and learning. Technology has profoundly changed education and its delivery mode. This study aims to explore the usage of SM by the students, and to discover the most common resources used in teacher education. Furthermore, it aims to illustrate students' belief about the influence of SM on their learning. This study administered validated questionnaires to students of B.Ed./M.Ed. from School of Education (SoE) of Bangladesh Open University. A non-probability sampling technique was utilized with a sample size of 195 students (females, n=117; males, n=78). The most common website used by both genders was Facebook. With regard to utilizing SM for learning, the students believed that it was beneficial. SoE needs to improve the utilization of SM by its faculty, tutors and students by developing activities and encouraging the usage of SM in blended program of teacher education program.
