Bandom Fest

bandomfest is a fest for fanfiction and fanart that focuses on a multitude of bands and pairings.

Schedule
March 24th-29th: Prompt Submission
April 1st-8th: Prompt Claiming
April 10th-June 30th August 15: Prompt posting.

General Rules
1. We are open to any band and pairing. Slash, gen, het, whatever. We will take it all!

2. We will take fanfic and fanart.

3. Crossover between bands is accept and encouraged!

4. We can only accept challenge fiction/art. OT posts will be deleted.

5. Only members can post, but anyone can comment.

6. Please don't flame. This is a place for fun, not drama. Skip over things you don't want to read.

Prompt Submission
1. You don't have to submit a prompt to write one. Also, you don't have to write a prompt if you just want to submit one.

2. You can submit as many prompts as you want, and can even claim your own.

3. All ratings, pairings (gen, het, slash, femslash, threesomes, none, etc), and genres are welcome.

4. Submit your prompts like so:
Band, Character/Paring, Word/Phrase/Scenario
An example: Fall Out Boy, Pete, horses

If you have a band crossover do this:
Band 1/Band 2, Character/Paring, Word/Phrase/Scenario
An example: My Chemical Romance/The Cab, Ray/Ian, for the love of guitars (oh, I want someone to write this so bad)

Prompt Claiming
1. Each prompt may be claimed twice for fiction and art.

2. You may claim more than one prompt over the course of the Fest, but one at a time. You must post your submission before claiming a second (or third or forth, etc.) prompt.

3. You can claim your own prompt.

4. You do not have to submit a prompt to claim a prompt.

5. To claim a prompt, comment in the appropriate post with:

Posting
1. Minimum submission requirements:

Fanfic: 1000 words
Fanart: 1 large or 2-3 smaller pieces

2. Post your submission or a link to it here at the community. When you post your fanfic here, please put the it behind a cut. The only exception is that if your journal is locked you must post your fic here. When you post your fanart here, everything except thumbnails must be placed behind a cut. Anything not-worksafe must be placed behind a cut (sadly). Lj-cuts are love, you guys.

3. Please include the following in your subject line:
[Fanfic or Fanart], [Band], [Pairing/Character (use full names please)], [Word/Phrase/Scenario]

4. For fanfic, please use this header with the following information:

Band:
Pairing/Characters: (use full names rather than initials)

5. Fiction and art may be posted from April 10th-June 30th August 15 when Fest Round One closes.

6. If you submit three or more pieces of fanfiction and fanart, you might just get something special!

Pimp your Band!
1. Sign up here to pimp your band. Reply with your name and the name of your band.

2. Each band may only be claimed by one person per round.

3. Wondering what to include in your pimp? Give us some background on the band, tell us why we should write about them, and let us know if their music is available. If you want to pimp your favorite member or pairing, go ahead and do that, too. Don't forget to include pictures!

4. Include the following in your subject line: Pimp: Name of Band/Person/Character by Your Name.

5. To make sure that these pimp posts remain available, please post it here in full, rather than linking to it. You can, of course, post it wherever you want to in addition to posting it here since it isn't exclusive. Place everything but a teaser behind a cut.

6. Pimpage posts must be done before the Fest closes. So post them around July 15th or before.

7. As of June 30 August 15, everything including unclaimed prompts, claimed but never pimped bands, and previously pimped bands will once again be open for claiming. Please note, if at that time you sign up for a fandom that’s already been pimped, don’t merely repeat what someone else has already said. Everyone loves a the bands for different reasons, so tell us why you like them, why they move you, how their music makes you fell, pimp another character/pairing, just be a unique little snowflake, okay?
