Certain muscles overactive\/tight and other muscles underactive\/weak.<a class=\"citation\" href=\"#C1\">[1]<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Sitting or standing in poor posture<\/li>\n<li>Vertebral fractures<a class=\"citation\" href=\"#C1\">[1]<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Degenerative disc disease<a class=\"citation\" href=\"#C1\">[1]<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Decreased mobility<a class=\"citation\" href=\"#C1\">[1]<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Older Age<a class=\"citation\" href=\"#C2\">[2]<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Hunchback Treatment Options<\/h2>\n<p>While manual therapy including massage and mobilization can be helpful, we are going to focus on stretches and exercises you can do on your own from home to get rid of hunchback, which have also proven to be effective.<a class=\"citation\" href=\"#C3\">[3]<\/a><a class=\"citation\" href=\"#C4\">[4]<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>5 Exercises To Fix Hunchback Posture<\/h2>\n<h3>Exercise #1: Foam Roll Thoracic Spine<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1115 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/backintelligence.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Foam-roll.png\" alt=\"Thoracic extension with foam roller\" width=\"740\" height=\"387\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This is great way to loosen up the upper back area.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lie on your back, with your hands placed behind your head, and a foam roller placed under your upper-back.<\/li>\n<li>Start to slowly roll up and down beginning at your mid-back and moving towards the top of your shoulders.<\/li>\n<li>Keep your core tight and use your legs to roll.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t rush, do nice and slow rolls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Exercise #2: Chest opening &#8211; At the same time, use your fingers to keep the chin tucked in the entire time.<\/li>\n<li>Hold the end position for 3 to 5 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Relax your neck for a moment (Let the neck come fwd).<\/li>\n<li>Aim for 2 to 3 sets of 10 repetitions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>** You should feel like the back of your neck is lengthening or \u201cpulling up\u201d, and there will be packing in front of your neck.<\/p>\n<h2>Fix Your Ergonomics<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re sitting down for 8 hours a day in poor posture then you will need to at least fix your ergonomics. You can get a full list of tips of <a href=\"https:\/\/backintelligence.com\/proper-sitting-posture-at-a-desk\/\">how to sit properly at a desk here<\/a>, but here are 3 important ones to start with:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Elevate your laptop\/device to your eye level. This will prevent you from hunching down and bringing your neck down to look at your computer.<\/li>\n<li>Get lumbar cushion support for your low back. This will prevent you from getting into a \u201cC\u201d spine curve when sitting at a chair, and instead encourage the natural \u201cS\u201d curve.<\/li>\n<li>Be aware of your head position and make sure it isn\u2019t jutting forward.
