About This Blog

My name is Alex Youcis, and I am a postdoc at the University of Toronto.

I started this blog mostly as a form of public note writing. Writing notes really helps me hammer concepts into my head. It also seems that with the hundreds of other notes I’ve taken advantage of in my mathematical lifetime, it would be nice to give back in kind.

If you ever mistakes in one of my posts, mathematical or otherwise, please let me know!

  1. Is “if you ever mistakes…” instead of “if you ever see any mistakes…” a deliberate mistake? It’s a common form of humour to make deliberate errors while discussing errors. For example, people say things like “My speling is exscellent!” Is that the type of humour you were aiming at?

    Thank You,

    Paul

  2. Bravo! It’s a great idea to publish your notes in this fashion … even if I don’t understand a large fraction of them; which is why I guess you called them hard; this is more honest I think than calling them basic, elementary or foundational; I look forward to the even harder sequel ;).
