Jeeps with trailer.

Probably the last painted for this year. Jeeps with trailer.
They are 15mm miniatures and from Forced In Battle. It are nice mini's and easy to paint.
None of the 4 mini's are sculpted the same. Only the drivers and passengers are all looking the same.
These will be a nice addition to my US 101st Airborne Division Battlegroup. Used as a Supply Column.

Thanks for looking.

Battlegroup British: Cromwell.

After months and months I finally did paint something. It was only a minor project. Just to get the feeling of painting back.
These are 2 British Cromwell tanks.
The miniatures are from PSC. And 15mm size.
To make a full platoon I need a Challenger. Hopefully Battlefront will release a new version soon, else I need to order one from Skytrex. I can use it with a Firefly but if I play a game of Battlegroup Market Garden I need a Challenger.

Sorry for the crappy pics.

Thanks for looking.

An update!

How things are going?
Well just when I found some motivation to paint again all kind of other things happened in my personal life. Not that these were all bad things but it stopped me from painting.
And then the next thing that happened a bursa inflammation (correct English?) in my left shoulder.
All in all I haven't painted anything in this period. It also meant that I had to skip the The Moloch Demons challenge.
I have decided to move this project to 2020.

Now since a few days I slowly started with some minor projects. One of it is to clean and touch up my US Airborne and rebuild it to use it with Battlegroup. Later on I will post about these projects.
Hopefully this will mean I will slowly return on my blog with new painted material.

Two months has past....

Two months has past since my last post.
What has happend in those two months? Well to be honest nothing at all. Some weeks it was too hot to do something and weeks that I was too busy at work.
And to be honest the main reason is that I had and have totally no motivation and inspiration to do anything hobbywise.
Instead I spend a lot of time on my other expensive hobby: collecting comic albums or stripalbums as we call them here in the Netherlands.

Now all I do is wait to see if my Motivation and inspiration will ever come back.

Till later.

More Battlegroup, 40mm Bofors AA.

Bought two secondhand (15mm Battlefront) Bofors AA only to notice when they arrived that the gunshields, the sight groups and tailpieces were missing.
That the gunshields are missing is not such big problem cause these were very often removed. Both other pieces was more of a problem. These are small pieces and I had to make these myself well at least I thought. When I took a look in my bitbox I found 2 sight groups that could easily be used although they look a bit different then original ones. The tailpieces were quickly made out of other pieces.
Although the pieces are different you hardly see it when the mini's are placed on the table.
Pictured here is the US version. The second one isn't ready yet as I want to convert the gunners into British.

Spam and more spam!

I've got a lot of spam comments on my posts lately. About 99.9% of all comments is spam.
As I get sick of removing all the spam posting each day I decided to change the settings.
If you now like to leave a comment then it will ask for a word verification.
I'm very sorry for this but it is the only solution I have at the moment. Maybe in the future I can change the settings back to what they were. Hopefully the number of spam posting on my blog will drop or even stop.

Another book added to the collection.

I was looking for this book for a long time and now I finally found one for a reasonable price.
Always had an interest in the 101st Airborne Division since my youth. That's also the reason I have a 15mm painted army of them. Wich is currently in revision because of wear and tear. More about that later.

Thanks for looking.

Ten years of blogging!

Just a quick post to let all of you know that today my blog has hit it's 10th anniversary. Not that it will be a big party.
I know that my blog ain't that popular and I also know that I don't have many followers and viewers. But that ain't something that surprises me. Can't say I'm a very active blogger. I even came to a point that I wanted to quit with this blog. And doing no posting for more then a year ain't helping either.
Even now I still don't know if I can or will keep this blog up. If I look at the views can't say they are increasing much. All I can say is that I'll see what happens.

Some facts.
Followers: 134 (but I doubt if most of them still read my blog).

There ain't much more to tell.

Till later.

New WWII book I bought.

I did buy this book because it looked interesting and I heard a lot of good about the writer. Historian James Holland.
It will only take some time to read the 650 plus pages.

Battlegroup: M32 TRV.

The M32 TRV painted.
Miniature from Battlefront. 15mm.
I used the Battlefront name of the miniature. In the Battlegroup books it is named M32 ARV (Armoured Recovery Vehicle).
At first I wanted to glue the miniature together as pictured below. But if I would glue the A-frame jib on the hull as pictured on picture it wouldn't be very strong bond and could break of pretty easy. Also it would be too fragile to transport the miniature. So I decided to glue it together normally.

Tried to giv the miniature give a muddy look. For this I used Vallejo Panzer Aces 304 Track Primer. I think it worked out well.
O
Maybe the painting turn out a little too dark. But I happy how it turned out.

M32 TRV part 2

More work on the M32 TRV.

The miniature primed black.

Next a base colour of Vallejo 887 Brown Violet is applied. Only the commander, the tracks and MG are not painted.

A layer of black wash added.

A highlight using of a mix of Vallejo 887 Brown Violet and Vallejo 886 Green Grey. And tracks plus MG are painted Vallejo Gun metal Grey.

Next painting details.

M32 TRV part 1

Yesterday I started to glue the M32 TRV (ARV) recovery miniature together. It's 15mm from Battlefront and will be used for Battlegroup.
After opening the blister I first checked if all components where there. As I forgot to take a picture of the components I went to FoW website and borrowed a picture from their site.

After I bend some components back in the right shape it was glueing time.
Glueing the pieces together wasn't a real problem and in a short time the job was done.
And of course I again forgot to take a picture so back to the FoW site and borrowed an other picture. Note; instead of a closed hatch I decided to go for an open hatch with a commander.

Now that the miniature was glued together I took a look on the miniature and noticed that it looked too "clean" as if it was missing something. I decided to surf the internet to see if I could find some info.
First thing I noticed on some of the pictures of the recovery verhicle is that some had an .50cal MG installed. Although this MG doesn't has any purpose in Battlegroup I think it is a nice addition. Also an aerial is placed.

I also glued an barrel on the back deck. This is hard to see on the pictures.
And glued some Jerrycans on the back of the vehicle.

Last thing I did was making a rolled up camouflage netting out of green stuff. Which is placed on the front of the vehicle.

If all things I added are accurate I don't know but I like the look of it.

Thanks for reading/looking.

Because you can't have enough lead/resin.

I have added twonew 15mm miniatures to the to paint pile. One for my Germans and one for my US army. Both are from Battlefront.
For the Germans I bought a box with a Königstiger. It comes with 2 turrets: the Henschel turret and the Porsche turret.
I also bought for my US army a blister with a M32 TRV recovery vehicle.
A friend of mine ordered these from Battlefront sometime ago when they had a clear out. I hadn't time to pick them up until last weekend.
Both will be used with the Battlegroup game.
Soon I have a few weeks holiday. Hopefully then I can then make the pile a little smaller.

Box with Königstiger.

Blister with M32 TRV recovery vehicle.

No I haven't disappeared again.

It is as the title of the post says I didn't abonden my blog again. The last couple of weeks, and still am, I were too busy with work. Also I had some personal things on my mind.
This meant that I hardly had any time to do some painting. Only started to do some clean up and restoration on my US Airborne. More about this later in other posts.

My progress on the Moloch demons. Well no progress at all or better said they are white for a third time. Each time I put some paint on them I wasn't happy with the colour and started all over again.

Hope to be back posting again soon.

Thanks for reading.

Battlegroup: Forward Observer Team and a Motorcycle Dispatch Rider.

Some more painted late war Germans for the Battlegroup game. These are 15mm miniatures from Battlefront.

First we have the Forward Observer Team with a Kubelwagen transport. In Battlegroup a observer is essential when you take on- or off- board Artillery. Not only do you need it to spot (nice thing about artillery in Battlegroup is that you don't need to spot a unit, you can also spot on a building or tree) but also to make a communication check. To get a bombardment you first take appoint on the battlefield the observer can see. Then you make communication or radio check by rolling a D6 to see if you even will get an bombardment.

Next is the Dispatch Rider. In Battlegroup it is normally just 1 motorcycle with driver. Because I had this mini with sidecar I decided to use this one as dispatch rider.
In Battlegroup this mini has a one use only. When you use it then the communication test is passed automatically. The mini is then removed from the battlefield.

Ummmm I really should learn how to take better pictures.

Confrontation Miniatures: Dirz.

A few weeks ago I was cleaning up the picture folder on my computer. While I was doing this I found some old Pictures of painted Confrontation miniatures. Why these where never placed on my blog I'm not sure. Maybe these were painted before I started with the blog and wanted to add them later or I painted these but forget to place these on the blog. One thing is sure I completely forget about these pictures. Decided that it is never too late to post these pictures.
First will be some Confrontation Dirz miniatures. In another post I post pictures of some Elemental Beings.
