Create a Contact Form 7 form
A wonderful thing Contact Forms 7 has is that you already have a Contact Form available and ready for use! So you do not need to create any other form. That is enough.
The automation mode

- Go to AutomatorWP > Automation > New Automation
- Select the anonymous one. Remember AutomatorWP can only set anonymous automations with only one trigger.
- Trigger section > Contact Forms 7 > Guest submits a form, and we have to select Contact Form 1.
Let’s go to the Actions section. You can choose between using an existing user or creating a new one. We recommend selecting the first option: Existing user, to check if the user who has filled the contact form is already created on your system.
- Choose the Existing user option.
- Choose the option Email from Field to search the user selection field.
- Infield value input, select the hamburger button and click on Guest submits {form} and then on Form field value option.
- After clicking on the form field value, you will see a filled text on the field with a structure similar to TRIGGER_ID:form_field:FIELD_NAME. Let’s see every element:
- TRIGGER_ID is a number generated automatically by WordPress, so you do not have to touch it. Yeah, please do not touch it. Let it like it is.
- form_field is the name of the tag you are using, so you have to keep this text as it is too.
- FIELD_NAME is the only text you have to change by the field slug name of your Contact Forms 7. You can find it on Contact > Contact Forms > Form you are using. And on the big field where you create the form, there is a kind of shortcode Contact Forms 7 uses for displaying its fields. For example, in [text* your-name], the field slug name will be your name, and that is the string we have to copy and paste on our automation to map this field.
- Copy the field slug name and paste in those places you would like to map from this form to create your user. Most important? your-email one.
- Finally, press Save the action and Save & Activate the Automation.
Your Contact Forms 7 form is ready to get leads!
