Before start with this guide, there is everything you will need:
- Our OpenAI add-on.
- An OpenAI account.
- Sufficient balance in your OpenAI account to be able to make API requests. You can check your credit in Billing Settings.
Connect AutomatorWP with OpenAI
1 – After logging in to OpenAI, select the API option

2 – Navigate to API keys at left menu.

3 – Click on Create new secret key, add a name to your API key, click on Create secret key and copy your API key.


4 – Come back to your site, navigate to AutomatorWP > Settings > OpenAI, paste your API key and select your OpenAI model.

6 – Click on Save Credentials button to finish!
That’s all! Now that you have successfully connected AutomatorWP and OpenAI, you are able to automatically generate content from OpenAI based on your site activity like purchases, e-learning and community activities or any of the triggers supported by AutomatorWP
OpenAI responses could take 5-30 seconds or longer depending of your prompt length. If you experience a delay in the automation execution, you can use our Schedule Actions add-on to schedule the OpenAI actions to run in the hours when your site have less traffic.
