Connect AutomatorWP with Facebook

Before start with this guide, there is everything you will need:

Creating a Facebook App

1 – Open the website developers.facebook.com and click My Apps (you have to be logged in with your Facebook account).

2 – In your apps dashboard, click Create App button.

3 – Choose the aplication type None and click the Next button.

4 – Fill the App name and the App contact email fields and click the Create app button.

5 – Automatically you will get redirected to this app dashboard and here you will be able to add new products, check the Login with Facebook product and click the Set up button.

6 – Go to your site and navigate to AutomatorWP > Settings > Facebook > Copy the redirect URL provided by AutomatorWP.

7 – Come back to your Facebook developer dashboard and navigate to Facebook Login > Settings menu.

8 Paste the redirect URL copied from your site in step 6 inside the Valid OAuth redirect URIs field and click on Save Changes button.

9 – Navigate to Set up > Basic Information > Scroll down and click the Add platform button.

10 – Mark the Website option and click the Next button.

11 – Enter your site URL inside the new field.

12 – Navigate to Tools > Graph API Explorer.

13 – Click the Add permission input (you have 2 ways, searching permissions in a text field or through a dropdown, the most faster is searching them) and add the following permissions:

  • pages_show_list
  • pages_read_engagement
  • pages_manage_data
  • pages_read_user_content
  • pages_manage_posts

14 – Navigate to Set up > Basic Information and copy the Application Identifier (app ID) and the Application Secret Key.

15 – Go to your site and navigate to AutomatorWP > Settings > Facebook > Paste the Application ID and Secret in the options with the same name and click on Authorize.

That’s all! Now that you have successfully connected AutomatorWP and Facebook, you are able to post content in your Facebook pages and groups automatically from your WordPress site about new blog posts, user activities, sales, course progress or any of the triggers supported by AutomatorWP.
