Tata Motors has launched the new-generation Tata Tiago in India at a starting price of ₹4.69 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a substantial update to one of the company’s bestselling hatchbacks. First introduced in 2016, the Tiago has now entered its latest iteration with major revisions to its styling, safety package, feature list, and cabin layout. The updated hatchback continues to target budget-conscious buyers while introducing several segment-first features aimed at improving convenience and technology.
The new-gen Tata Tiago is available in six variants, namely Smart, Pure, Pure+, Pure+ A, Creative, and Creative+. Tata Motors has also retained the petrol and CNG powertrain options for the hatchback.

Tata Tiago: Specs & Features
The Tata Tiago continues to be based on Tata Motors’ X-Alfa architecture and is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The engine can be paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed AMT gearbox. Tata Motors also continues to offer a CNG version of the hatchback.
The AMT variants additionally feature paddle shifters, which Tata claims is a segment-first feature at this price point.
Dimensionally, the Tiago measures 3,767 mm in length and rides on a 2,400 mm wheelbase while offering 170 mm of ground clearance.
The updated exterior design introduces slimmer LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps, a redesigned front bumper, and newly styled 15-inch alloy wheels. The rear section now features connected-style LED tail lamps, although the centre section remains non-illuminated.
Inside the cabin, the Tata Tiago adopts a completely redesigned dashboard layout with a dual-tone interior theme. The hatchback now comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The system is paired with a fully digital instrument cluster.
Additional features include wireless smartphone charging, a 360-degree surround-view camera, rear AC vents, auto-folding ORVMs, USB Type-C charging ports for both rows, and a rotary dial-based gear selector on AMT variants.
Tata Tiago: Safety
The safety package of the Tata Tiago has received a substantial upgrade. The hatchback now comes with six airbags as standard across all variants.
Additional safety equipment includes electronic stability program, traction control, cruise control, blind view monitor, and a 360-degree camera system.
