How fitting!!! I used the last chapter of "In Search of What Comes Easy" (my QAF/HP crossover) AND got the same results when I used "Each Other All Along" (my Harry/Hermione drabble story). How freaking funny is that!?!?!

At least I guess I'm consistant. :)

EDIT: Just analyized my Kish fic and got...CHARLES DICKENS!! LOL!!! WHAT?? :)

So I was thinking about Doctor Who - something I have been doing a lot of lately!!! - and was thinking:

Last Doctor. There are only supposed to be 13 right?? So who do you cast??

My idea:

RUPERT GRINT!!!

He would finally be ginger and I really feel like Rupert could do a great job. Quirky, but serious and I think after several more years he would be just the right age and all grown up for this role...he could also be totally awful, but who knows!

I've felt kind of MIA lately. There are several stories I have stewing around in my brain, but no time to sit down and actually write them. I also have a little picspam that I am SUPER excited to do about how Doctor Who/David Tennant and QAF/Gale Harold are both so sexy and fantastic (and surprisingly similar)

I am around, reading and trying to stay up to date, but I've just been ridiculously busy gigging, with all the driving to match. It's exhausting but just the way it is.

Anyway, HUGS ALL AROUND!!!

So I haven't been over to IJ for ages...just kind of got wrapped up in my LJ flist (cause you're all awesome!!!)

But I randomly got 3 comments on a short QAF fic I written last spring and posted over there and I was like..."Huh...that is weird!" So I clicked on my friend's list over there...

AND I HAD BEEN RECCED!!! On a community called qaf_retread where the mods post recs of older fics for people new to the fandom. I AM SO TOUCHED!!!

It was this fic What's a Little Rain?. I wrote it last spring, when I was neck deep in my Queer as Magic verse, but had a few spurts of QAF inspiration. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever write another pure QAF fic again or if my love has moved on to other things. Only time will tell I suppose... (This worry can only be further proven by the fact that I have a slew of Brian alone icons, some H/D icons and a ton of Kish icons but not a single B/J icon...I do have a Brian/Draco icon though!!! :))

But it was nice reminder today of how much I loved (and still do love) those characters and that show.

Anyway...just totally ticked pink. :)

When you go away for work for the weekend and leave your wallet at home!!!!

Yep, that is what I did yesterday.  Left around 11 and was in my car thinking, "I really feel like I'm forgetting something.  But no...I have my glasses and my phone charger and my instrument."

Just didn't have my freaking wallet!!!  No ID, no cash, no credit cards!!! 

I felt oddly vulnerable without it.  It's really scarry knowing that I couldn't even put together enough money to buy a cup of coffee if I wanted.  Let alone buy gas or food.  I have a whole different level of understanding for the poor or homeless.  It was incredibly demoralizing.  And even when friends and colleauges would offer me money or buy me dinner, just because they are good friends and I'd do the same for them, it felt very shameful.  And I only had to deal with this for 12 hours... 

Anyway, I have the best parents ever and they send me $$ over night, so now at least I can buy gas and eat.  I just can't get pulled over on my drive home.  :)

In other news, I've gotten started on my first KISH story!!!  So excited! :)  And I've been loving all the Gale pics and news that has been posted in the past few days.  I hadn't been commenting much cause RL has been insane, but he looks so amazing and I'm glad Orpheus Decending is getting good reviews.  :)  YAY life after QAF!!!!

Ok, so I was watching Clara Sheller for like the millionth time the other day and I am completely in love with the song they use during JP and Gilles first time.  It's beautiful and heartbreaking and perfect for the moment.  And I found myself thinking that that song was almost as perfect as the song for Christian and Oliver's first time which is almost as perfect as Oliver and Kyle's first time.  

So I decided to make a list!  These are all songs from pivotal moments from the shows we all know and love.  Those romantic moments that are made all the more perfect by the music in the background.

First off,

Kyle and Oliver were just ALL sorts of cute today on OLTL. Kyle was totally making fun of Oliver for checking out Ford and then went on to say how ripped he is...cause yeah, Ford is gorgeous. At least from the neck down! :)

2nd:

I still am kind of reeling from finishing my Queer as Magic verse. In Search of What Comes Easy Epilogue was posted a few days ago and now that story is truly finished. It took me over a year and 3 different fics to finish the story of Brian and Draco, but I think I have. I feel like I have given them a realistic journey and ended it in a good place for both of them. There are a few one shots that might get written eventually but not right now.

Right now I cannot wait to get going with some new fics. There is a Harry/Scorpius I've wanted to write for ages. Maybe a Harry/Hermione. (ACK Het, I know!!!) And I signed up for Kish Fest 2010!!!! SOOOOOO excited about the story I have planned for that one!!

Lastly,

tdorian sent me some links to a show that was on in France a few years ago. It is called Clara Sheller and I am completely smitten. Basic premise is Clara is a young woman who lives with her gay best friend - they both fall in love wih the same guy. At the end of the first season, she and guy move in together. Very sad for the best friend, whose name is Jean Phillipe or JP. But then in the second season, the man Giles realizes he cannot trust Clara anymore and begins spending more time with JP. They become closer until finally...Giles realizes that the person he truly wants to be with is JP!!!!! It is beautiful and wonderful and I just can't stop watching the clips.

I usually don't go for the Salt and Pepper type guy...but the man who plays Giles...HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, he is gorgeous. It's a little confusing because it is two completely different casts for Season 1 and Season 2. I'm quite fond of both JP's, but prefer the 2nd Giles A LOT more than the 1st. Both Clara's are cute and quirky and broken.

Just something I've noticed about the Gays of Daytime Soap phenomenon:

First came Christian and Oliver on Verbotene Liebe.

Now there is Christian and Syed on EastEnders.

Then came Oliver and Kyle on One Life to Live. (And Oliver's roommate is named Christian BTW)

Well, after being spoiled by 2 months of a paid account gifted to me by rromantic I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a year of a paid account. A YEAR! I'm not sure whether to be completely giddy or completely guilty about this. But I figured, I spend so much time on LJ, why the heck not!!!

In other news, I know I included these guys in the My Year in Fandom post which can be found here, but I watched a little more of them today and WOW! The story of Kyle Lewis and Oliver Fish (or Kish as they are being called) is really fantastic.

See there is a twist in the usual gay soap story, Kyle and Fish were lovers before (in college) and are suddenly thrown back together. And for an American soap, their acting has actually been pretty impressive. Try these scenes on for size!!!




You have to go to the second clip right for the first kiss (which is pretty nice if you ask me!) But the line in the first clip that really gets me is right around 4:19 in the first clip. "You can't even say it can you? We were lovers. I loved you. I still do!"

Classic!

Just ignore the creepy blond lady in age-inappropriate skit and husky voice. She bugs me.

Do you ever have an idea for a fic that you are so in love with and think is perfect in your head, that you are afraid to start writing for fear that you will ruin it with your words??

Feeling that way right now...that this idea I have can never live up to the page. I don't know if I trust myself to write it and yet...I feel like I have to.

Oh man...this sucks.

In other news:  I have chapter 18 of In Search Of What Comes Easy done!!  This is the first chapter since around chapter 6 that I have written ahead of time.  I'll already on my way to chapter 19 so this is very exciting!!!!

Also, feeling totally discouraged about the diet.  Didn't drop any weight from yesterday to today.  So part of me wonders if I should even bother.  You see that apple Mr. Kinney is eating in my icon...yes I would like to even be able to eat that. But no!! Not even allowed a freaking apple!! But really, I am determined.

Lastly, PHILLIES!!!  They can clinch NL East tonight with a win.  Don't know if you were are aware, but I'm a crazy huge baseball (and basketball and football) fan!!!  GO PHIGHTIN' PHILS!!!!!!

I have said all along that the Brian Kinney I have been writing in my Queer as Magic Verse, is the Brian Kinney I imagined he had the potential of becoming in the show if he had been given the opportunity to progress as a person and as a partner by the writers. And if he had been given a partner like Draco Malfoy who pushed him in ways Justin didn't.

Also, you've all seen Maurice right???  Because if you haven't you haven't lived.  This movie has completely stollen my heart.  And yes, I know I said this about Were the World Mine last week, but seriously...this movie is so brilliant and moving and beautiful.  And the script and the music and the acting and James Wilby and  the last kiss (please see icon) and RUPERT GRAVES!!!!   I'm in love with him.  Must watch Forsyth Saga NOW!!!

And lastly, did we all know that Stephen Moyer, aka Vampire Bill, is English?  Thank you Emmy's for giving me yet another English man to swoon over.

So I've recently become friends with a woman who basically is basically as fangirly as I am, but somehow manages to contain it more.  (Or maybe we're already friends on LJ and we just haven't admitted it to each other yet!  LOL!) 

The great thing, aside from our mutual love of all things male, we have almost the exact same tastes in movies.

Loves extremely romantic boys
Loves extremely angsty boys
Loves English productions
Loves period pieces

You get the drift...

We're starting a monthly tradition of watching movies together, eating, drinking, gabbing, and being all around girly.  (Which is great for me!!)  But we need a good list of movies to work with. 

As an example, we had our first get together this past weekend and we watched Truly, Madly, Deeply (It was talk of Alan Rickman that first brought our mutual loves to light!)   But some of the other boys/movies that have been brought up are:  Colin Firth, Christian Bale (before he sold out), Kenneth Brannaugh, Sense and Sensibility, Howard's End.  (This is all seemingly really English...hmm...)

So what I want it : your favorite movies that you think of when you hear the words:  hot, angsty, romantic, gay or not, English or not, period or not, boys.

I don't want any mainstream chick flick movies, cause let's face it, they all pretty much suck.  I personally love a rip your heart out, crying kind of movie, but no Beaches or Terms of Endearment please!! (Those would fall under chick flick anyway...)  I think the less mainstream the better.  But really I'll just take any suggestion!!

I'm at my new house again!  Loving it and the fact that I OWN it and can paint it and fix it etc...but hating lack of internet! :(

I'll try and keep up to date as much as possible, but I am planning on using this time to do some writing on the third part in the Brian/Draco trilogy.  It is going to be called The Edge of Safe and I'm getting excited about what I'm planning for the boys!!!

I needed a little pick me up after the stupid decision made out in California today.

I've decided that I can watch the 510 "I love you scene" repeatedly and ALWAYS get choked up. Always swoon. Always see something I didn't see the first (or 500th) time.

Like have you ever realized that Brian's eyes are completely open the first time he says it...he is so unafraid. So ready for Justin to know. It's about freaking time after all!

And I swear, after they start hugging someone says "I'm alright." or "I'm here." or something equally wonderful and breathless.

Just in case you need to watch again, like I did...



*sigh*  Brian and Justin and Queer as Folk at their best.

In the immortal words of our beloved Justin Taylor: "I'm not antisocial, I just hate people."

It was just one of those days where EVERYONE was an asshole. Not my friends, not my family but all those stupid people that can still some how manage to make your life fucking miserable.

They all seemed to pop up today, either making me incredibly sad, pissed off or a combination of both throughout the day.

I'm not sure whether to vomit cause I'm so mad or sob cause I'm so upset.

So instead I'm going to drink a beer, curl up with my flist and hope it all gets better tomorrow.

It's been busy few days over here at my journal!! YAY!

Thank you so much to everyone who read and commented. These two fics have been a huge undertaking, for a strange pairing that many people are and were sheepish of. But everyone who took a chance and enjoyed the story has my eternal thanks and a special place in my heart.

I've also been catching up on hd_worldcup reading. Yes, I love Harry and Draco and know now I always will. This fest has been great with some very fun prompts. The fic We Flood Empty Lakes is an especially unique and beautiful read.

As for what comes next:

Yes, there will be a sequel in my Brian/Draco-verse. I have the bunny, just have to flesh it out. I do know however that this one will NOT be in 2nd person POV anymore. It is very tiring to get that voice to work, and for this story we will need to be in both Draco and Brian's heads.

I also have several chapters of an Alt Season 3 B/J fic! (Remember Brian and Justin??? LOL) That needs some reworking, but I may just get around to it.

And I also have a straight-up H/D that I've been wanting to write. An infidelity fic. Yum.

Let me not neglect some GALE squee!!! His return to Desperate Housewives was last night and he looked fabulous. I'm slightly worried where this plot line might be headed, but so happy to see him back to work. And the fact that we got to see his tattoo in one of the scenes last night.

I am so not going to have part 17 up tonight...

But I blame this movie: 

If you have never seen it, this movie is totally worth spending some time on YouTube watching it.  It is called "No Night is Too Long" and it is a well made and well acted story about a dangerous love triangle between a professor, his young lover and his sister.  It has one of the hottest first kisses I have ever seen, it features a great performance by Lee Williams, an obscure but very talented (and beautiful) English actor, and relies heavily on Richard Strauss' Der Rozenkavalier for music, which happens to be my favorite opera.  (The title, in fact, comes from the libretto and is now featured as the title of my journal...yes I have an obsessive personality.  What??)  

And the craziest thing of all...is that is was made for Canadien TV!!  Makes me want to move to Canada even more if this is the kind of made for TV movies they produce. :)

Here is the first part.  I watched it on Logo this Sunday and was totally captivated.  And through the power of YouTube I have already watched it again... OH!  And see if you recognize the Isabella's husband at the end.  I do believe it is Babylon's resident preist from QAF.
