Title: Unbreak Broken Pairing: Oliver Fish/Kyle Lewis Part: 1/3 Word count: 18,871 total. This part: 5090 Rating: R Warnings: Angst, prescription drug abuse, Oliver/other (you'll see who). Prompt: AU where “back in college” had a different ending Summary: Kyle stands a few feet away, his arms hanging limply by his sides. His shoulders are bunched up by his ears and his eyes are puffy and raw. Yesterday he had almost looked normal, tired and deflated, but better than the morning after he was arrested. But now he looks completely worn, as insubstantial and frail as a ghost. He looks, Oliver realizes with a clenching of his heart, like a drug addict.

Author’s Notes: This is my submission for the 2010 KISH FEST over at kyle_fish . When I first read this prompt, there were two things I wanted to play with: An openly gay Oliver and having Kyle’s law troubles occur at the same time as their romance. I took liberty with all the legal matters, but I did do a good deal of research about the drugs that I had Kyle take. Also, since we are writing in a soap fandom, I allowed myself to be slightly more cliché then I‘m used to but I think it fits with these two.
And just so you know, regardless of the angst, a very happy ending is guaranteed.
Why does Fandom have to hurt so fucking much some times??
My new favorite couple is being written off their show. And not in a few months, not this summer, but by the end of April.
I finally find this new couple that I love and has an amazing history and story and great actors to play them and a show the seems to care about telling their story only to read this article on my flist today.
The only thing that makes me feel remotely better is that both of these actors are far, FAR, too talented for soaps. They both deserve so much more, even though this story line has been amazing. I can only hope that this is the lemon they can both make lemonade from.
But right now, I'm just sad.
How the fuck am I supposed to finish my Kish story now??? *sobs*
I was commenting on a thread over on the seifen_slash community about as much as I love seeing my boys happy and in love, sometimes I really miss the angst of them NOT being all happy and in love.
Cause they can be really pretty like that....Especially the lovely Igor Dolgatschew who really got amazingly angsty during the lead up to DeRo 2.0.
We Love Soaps: What have you learned from Kyle? Brett Claywell: Kyle Lewis has changed Brett Claywell for the rest of his life.
We Love Soaps: How so? Brett Claywell: It’s made me a more compassionate human being. It’s made me more of an activist, without a doubt. It was a blessing to be able to do my work with my heart. To stand up and fight for something I believe in, which most artists don’t get a chance to do. I got to blend something I feel strong about in society with the work I’m doing in television and come to the forefront of a social issue that I’m really proud to be a part of.
He's awesome. :)
Also - any one want to beta my Kish Fest Fic??? It isn't done yet...(tries not to panic) but I could send you what I've got!!!
Kyle and Oliver were just ALL sorts of cute today on OLTL. Kyle was totally making fun of Oliver for checking out Ford and then went on to say how ripped he is...cause yeah, Ford is gorgeous. At least from the neck down! :)
2nd:
I still am kind of reeling from finishing my Queer as Magic verse. In Search of What Comes Easy Epilogue was posted a few days ago and now that story is truly finished. It took me over a year and 3 different fics to finish the story of Brian and Draco, but I think I have. I feel like I have given them a realistic journey and ended it in a good place for both of them. There are a few one shots that might get written eventually but not right now.
Right now I cannot wait to get going with some new fics. There is a Harry/Scorpius I've wanted to write for ages. Maybe a Harry/Hermione. (ACK Het, I know!!!) And I signed up for Kish Fest 2010!!!! SOOOOOO excited about the story I have planned for that one!!
Lastly,
tdorian sent me some links to a show that was on in France a few years ago. It is called Clara Sheller and I am completely smitten. Basic premise is Clara is a young woman who lives with her gay best friend - they both fall in love wih the same guy. At the end of the first season, she and guy move in together. Very sad for the best friend, whose name is Jean Phillipe or JP. But then in the second season, the man Giles realizes he cannot trust Clara anymore and begins spending more time with JP. They become closer until finally...Giles realizes that the person he truly wants to be with is JP!!!!! It is beautiful and wonderful and I just can't stop watching the clips.
I usually don't go for the Salt and Pepper type guy...but the man who plays Giles...HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, he is gorgeous. It's a little confusing because it is two completely different casts for Season 1 and Season 2. I'm quite fond of both JP's, but prefer the 2nd Giles A LOT more than the 1st. Both Clara's are cute and quirky and broken.
Here is a link to the first time Giles and JP make love. As tdorian said, this was a hugely contoversial scene when this aired because was on at 9 PM on network TV. YAY FRANCE!
Well, after being spoiled by 2 months of a paid account gifted to me by rromantic I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a year of a paid account. A YEAR! I'm not sure whether to be completely giddy or completely guilty about this. But I figured, I spend so much time on LJ, why the heck not!!!
ICONS HERE I COME!!!
In other news, I know I included these guys in the My Year in Fandom post which can be found here, but I watched a little more of them today and WOW! The story of Kyle Lewis and Oliver Fish (or Kish as they are being called) is really fantastic.
See there is a twist in the usual gay soap story, Kyle and Fish were lovers before (in college) and are suddenly thrown back together. And for an American soap, their acting has actually been pretty impressive. Try these scenes on for size!!!
You have to go to the second clip right for the first kiss (which is pretty nice if you ask me!) But the line in the first clip that really gets me is right around 4:19 in the first clip. "You can't even say it can you? We were lovers. I loved you. I still do!"
Classic!
Just ignore the creepy blond lady in age-inappropriate skit and husky voice. She bugs me.
Oh my goodness! Thank you for leaving a comment. I am never on LJ these days but getting this notification that people are still stumbling across this story and and still enjoying it really made my…
I would like to say thank you for this wonderful QAF/HP-xover. Its an amazing story. What a beautiful pairing - also Michael/Harry. I enjoyed reading it. :)
I love your series. I admit I am really late in reading this series. Personally, I love how you paired Harry/Michael and Brian/Draco. I'll admit I was really unsure if I could continue since it…
