Hi there! I am new to this community so I wanted to introduce myself. I am slightly obsessed with urban fantasy particularly when it involves the Fae. I am currently reading Iced by Karen Marie Moning who is like a goddess! Everything she writes is wonderful particularly her Fae Fever books! I also really enjoyed Tithe by Holly Black and the Melissa Marr series Wicked Lovely. If anyone has any recommendations of similar reads I would be delighted to hear them.

If the road to hell is paved with good intentions...
Paige Darlington has a problem. See, she's the former apprentice to Satan's right hand, Becka Gibbs. As a result, she's got this pretty much all consuming need to be bad... not her fault, right? Well, that will be a small comfort when she loses all human emotions, including the ability to love and care about those who matter to her.
Maybe the road to heaven is paved with sexy ones..
To keep his brother alive, Jed Buchanan works for Satan Jr., the heir to hell and the most evil being in existence. Jed has been forced to do a lot of unsavory things during his time on the "job" and his latest assignment - killing Becka Gibbs - isn't pleasant either. It only gets more complicated when he arrives at Becka's apartment, and inadvertently attacks Paige, a beautiful, sexy demon who decides that saving his black soul will be just the thing to keep her own from rotting.
But can the Devil's minion and the Devil's assassin possibly find true love?
I started this book with very high expectations, I have read her other previous ones and liked them very much and so I expected to like this one too, no doubt about it. I'm very glad to say, Stephanie certainly did not disappoint. This story was laugh-out-loud funny and witty and so romantic! the chemistry between Paige and Jeb was believable and so sweet. It was a hard-paced paranormal romance with fantastic characters. I definitely recommend everyone checks out this book when it comes out in November!

...the Harry Potter books again. Only because my husband left most of MY books in storage in Idaho when we moved back to Washington a couple months ago.
So my question is this...
Does anyone know of anywhere online where I can download (for free - we have no extra cash right now) books to read? Specifically fantasy and science fiction...that's all I read on a regular basis anyhow other than reference books for my world building projects.
Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, this community has been slow. Remember, you can post anything related to the state genres, even what your currently reading.
I'm currently reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Sadly I had to put it down to read some text books for a summer course, but I can't wait to pick it up again in about another week.
What urban fantasy authors/books do you like?

Hi there!
I found this community by randomly hitting buttons on my list of interests. I am a mother of three (all under the age of 3) who loves fantasy and science fiction. I'm currently in the process of writing my own series of novels based in a fantasy world I created back when I was in junior high. I hope to at least attempt to get the first one published in the next year or two. It's currently in the midst of its first major revision...in which I am rewriting whole chapters because of how lame they sound.
My favorite authors are way too numerous to mention, but a few of my favorites:
Tamora Pierce
Anne McCaffrey
Mercedes Lackey (her Diana Tregarde mysteries especially)
Laurell K. Hamilton
Diana Paxson

Hi all! Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an avid reader of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Some of my faves are:
Laurell K. Hamilton
Rachel Caine
Kim Harrison
Jim Butcher
I'm also a writer, and my first book will be published next year. It too is an urban fantasy because, well, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Looking forward to discussing books with you all!

Just a reminder that this community is still alive. I'm the moderator,
evanescentsiren. I've noticed we have ten members, and only two posting. You can talk about ANYTHING that you can relate to the genres of fantasy and its many subgenres, horror, science fiction, and paranormal fiction. You can post your current reading list, review, ask questions, talk about any of those genres in general, ask for reading suggestions or questions about other members reading habits in these genres, etc. If you are writing fiction in any of those genres, you can post anything related to that as well.
