As we all know that recent progress of technology and information technology is the defining features of our era. Televisions, computers, tablets, mobile phones, billboards, digital games, digital libraries, etc. escorted us in a big part of our daily lives and we live in a visual world around us. Our era has brought us together a different thinking and the detection process, during it depends on the technology. Developing new technological tools and their information interactions effects experienced culture and appreciation criteria, modern man is exposed to both visual and auditory bombardment with advanced technological devices. Visual communication, visual literacy, visual thinking concepts and their areas took into our lives in this new visual era that occurs with visual interaction. Nowadays, children are experiencing visual coding and learn to use visual language at very young ages. Art education has a great importance in the awareness and use of visual language for the new generation who live visually more than previous one. Developing and adapting art education with new technological tools is one of the requirements of the new visual era. Design Thinking is a collaborative, interdisciplinary, innovative, creative, problem-solving and ... more Design Thinking is a collaborative, interdisciplinary, innovative, creative, problem-solving and human-centered process for creating user-oriented products, services or experiences. Because of its ability to foster creativity and innovation, it is applied in the fields of industry, business, engineering, technology and education by applying an empathetic, flexible and iterative approach. Along with the search for a teaching strategy for the acquisition of 21st century skills, there has been an intense and broad interest in Design Thinking applied in education in recent years. Since the design thinking approach is similar to the content of the theoretical and practical applications of the artistic production process, art and design thinking are related concepts. The study aimed to determine the interaction between design thinking and art and also the development of an individual's design thinking skills through art education. As a result of the literature review; by examining the relationship between art and design-oriented thinking, it has been evaluated common and influence sides each other with art education, and the ability to develop design thinking skills through art education is also determined and discussed. The paper also presents some evaluations and recommendations about raising productive individuals with design-oriented thinking through effective art education.

Bu araştırmada pedagojik sanat eleştirisi yönteminin öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme becerilerine ... more Bu araştırmada pedagojik sanat eleştirisi yönteminin öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme becerilerine olan etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma ortaokul 8. sınıfta öğrenim gören 45 öğrenci (18 kız ve 27 erkek) üzerinde yapılmış ve deney grubu 23, kontrol grubu ise 22 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden uygulama öncesinde ve sonrasında deney ile kontrol gruplarında uygulanan ön test ve son test odaklı yarı deneysel model kullanılmıştır. Ön test ve son test olarak "Eleştirel Düşünme Ölçeği" uygulanmıştır. Deney grubunda pedagojik sanat eleştirisi yöntemi ile dersler işlenirken, kontrol grubunda ise görsel sanatlar dersi öğretim programı eşliğinde dersler işlenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda deney ve kontrol gruplarındaki öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme ölçeği son test puanları arasında; analiz, çıkarım ve açıklama testlerinde anlamlı bir fark olmadığı; değerlendirme, yorumlama ve öz düzenleme testlerinde ise anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak görsel sanatlar dersinde pedagojik sanat eleştirisi yöntemi ile ders işleyen öğrencilerin, bu derste Görsel Sanatlar öğretim programına göre ders işleyen öğrencilere oranla eleştirel düşünme becerilerinin daha fazla yükseldiği görülmüştür. The study aimed to determine visual literacy levels of the teacher candidates and also to find ou... more The study aimed to determine visual literacy levels of the teacher candidates and also to find out whether the visual literacy levels effects by some variables or not. The study group was consisted of 172 students who were educating in the Visual Art Education Department of Kazım Karabekir Education Faculty. General Screening Model was used for the research performing, and data were collected by The Personal Information Form and the Visual Literacy Form. The results show that visual literacy levels of the teacher candidates were advanced. Considering gender there wasn't any changes, but considering class level, there were meaningful changes with class level increasing.

Sanat eleştirisi yöntemi ise sanat eserlerine görsel ve düşünsel analiz yaparak incelemeyi sağladığından görsel okuryazarlık becerilerinin gelişimine katkı sağlayacak içeriğe sahiptir. Araştırmada “Pedagojik Sanat Eleştirisi yönteminin öğrencilerin görsel okuryazarlık becerilerine olan etkisinin belirlenmesi” amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubu ortaokul 8’inci sınıfta öğrenimini sürdüren 90 (60 kız ve 30 erkek) öğrenci ile oluşturulmuştur. Rastgele seçilen deney ve kontrol gruplarının mevcutları 45’er öğrencidir. Görsel düşünme ve görsel okuryazarlığı ortaya çıkarmak için geliştirilen görsel düşünme stratejileri kişilerin sanat yoluyla eleştirel düşünme becerilerini uyararak bilişsel ve estetik gelişim sağlayan etkili bir yöntemdir. Bu çalışmanın amacı görsel düşünme stratejilerinin tarihsel gelişimi, kavramsal içeriği ve uygulama süreçlerinin literatüre dayalı olarak incelenmesidir. Çalışmada görsel düşünme stratejileri ile ilgili değerlendirmeler yapılmış, farklı araştırmalardan elde edilen sonuçlar ve yorumlar derlenerek tartışılmış, ilgili tespitler ve önerilere yer verilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı sanat eğitiminin görsel okuryazarlık becerilerine olan etkisini belirlemekt... more Bu araştırmanın amacı sanat eğitiminin görsel okuryazarlık becerilerine olan etkisini belirlemektir. Genel tarama modelinde yapılan araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında öğrenim gören 44 birinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Öğrenciler sanat eğitimi alan ve almayan olarak iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Sanat eğitimi alıp almamaları mezun oldukları lise türüne göre belirlenmiştir. Güzel sanatlar liselerinden mezun olanlar sanat eğitimi almış olan öğrenci grubunu, alan dışı bir liseden mezun olan öğrenciler ise sanat eğitimi almamış olan grubu oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak "Görsel Okuryazarlık Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Veriler istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre öğrencilerin görsel okuryazarlık becerileri ortalamalarının alt boyutların tümünde yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Sanat eğitimi alan grubun görsel okuryazarlık becerileri puanları sanat eğitimi almayan gruba göre daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda Sanat Eğitiminin öğrencilerin görsel okuryazarlık becerilerini olumlu yönde etkilediği görülmüştür.

Objectives of the study are to determine the effect of teaching based on multiple intelligence th... more Objectives of the study are to determine the effect of teaching based on multiple intelligence theory (TBMIT) in visual arts class on student success and permanence. Experimental design is used in the study. Study group is composed of students at 8 th grade in 2012-2013 educational term at Atatürk Secondary School in Iğdır city centre. Experimental and control groups are made up of 32 and 31 students, respectively. In control group, conventional teaching method was used for expressing the subject of "miniature picture" in visual arts class while in experimental group a teaching method based on multiple intelligence theory (MIT) was applied for 3 weeks in both groups. Success test developed by the researchers was applied to measure success readily after and permanence of the knowledge learned 3 weeks after the experiment. In the comparison of the results obtained from Success and Permanence tests of experiment and control groups, t test was used by considering the statistical analyses of data obtained. It was found form the results that experimental group is more successful than control on the average. According to P test results, experimental group had larger P scores than the control. As a conclusion, MIT was found to affect Success and Permanence of 8 th grade students in miniature picture subject in visual arts class.

Bu amacla arastirmada deneysel yontem kullanilarak, calisma grubu 2012-13 egitim-ogretim yili bahar doneminde Igdir il merkezindeki bir ortaokulda 8. sinif seviyesindeki 63 ogrenciden olusturulmustur. Deney grubu 32, kontrol grubu ise 31 ogrenciden olusmustur. Deney grubunda coklu zekâ kuramina dayali ogretim yontemine gore yapilandirilmis bir program uygulanirken kontrol grubunda gorsel sanatlar dersi ogretim programi yurutulmustur. Veri toplama araci olarak gorsel sanatlar tutum olcegi kullanilmistir. Elde edilen verilerin analizleri SPSS 17 paket programinda t-testi uygulanarak elde edilmistir.
