Ssssooo, is anyone going to AX? I normally don't go, but I applied for the Fate/Zero ACP event and will be working for them as Kayneth. I'll also be working staff, so I won't have any time to hang out with people, but that leads me to my next question:
DO YOU LIKE FATE/ZERO? IF YES, AND YOU ARE GOING TO AX, GO TO THE HOLY GRAIL WAR EVENT.
It'll be loads of fun and totally hilarious and you get to compete against other people (and me) for the chance to master a servant and go on to win the holy grail war. More info:
DO YOU WANT A HOLY GRAIL? What would you do if you were granted your desires from the Holy Grail? Now what would you do to obtain the Holy Grail! We shall find out as the events of the 4th Holy Grail War will unfold over two days at Anime Expo! On Friday we will have potential masters come and seek choose their servants! On Saturday, the masters will command their servants to do battle! Only the best combination of servant and master will lay claim to the Holy Grail. The winner of the Holy Grail will get a coveted autographed prize (A GOLDEN HOLY GRAIL) signed by the Fate/Zero guests! To win, you need to come to BOTH EXHIBITIONS OF THE HOLY GRAIL WAR.
FRIDAY 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM = Holy Grail War Part 1
SUNDAY 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM = Holy Grail War Part 2 I can't share many details other than that I assure you that it will be completely ridiculous and entertaining. So go. Just do it.
And now back to my regularly scheduled Kayneth making.

Went to a lolita metup and visited the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the DeYoung, which is cool and all but who cares, because I ALSO SAW ALCEST TONIGHT.
I was within slapping distance of Neige like the whole time, and I actually managed to get clear shots of Zero and Winterhalter, making tonight a photography miracle. Also the venue had cheap beer and a pretty decent (and cheap-ish) pineapple caipirinha. The bartender filled the glass like halfway with cachaca and that's when I knew my night was gonna be good.
It was kind of precious because while the opening acts were playing, Zero was wearing one of his regular kind of beat up metal band tank tops. And then for some reason he decided to change into what I am 99% positive was a women's shirt. I know this because I think I own the same one in a different color. It's from H&M, isn't it Mr. Zero?
( wow there is an obscene amount of repetitive photos under hereCollapse )

I totally just realized that I haven't even managed to go through all of my photos of Enslaved from the Alcest show, and on top of that I still need to do all of the ycon pictures. I'll probably edit them over the course of the week or something. Anyway, posting pics of Junius and Alcest before I forget, and there will probably be some concert vomit if I actually can remember what happened.
 ( Junius & Alcest @ Slims SFCollapse )
Annd a special collection: ( THE BUTTS OF ALCESTCollapse )
I took a bajillion pictures of Enslaved and am too lazy to go through them and weed out the decent shots tonight, so I'll post them later I guess.

RIGHT SO. PROVIDED NOTHING EXPLODES ON US (THIS IS HIGHLY LIKELY), payapayapapaya AND I WILL HAVE AN ARTIST'S ALLEY TABLE AT YCON. We'll be sharing it with the lovely tofubeast. What will be be selling? Animu themed nailpolish! We have a barebones site up with the rough hex color of the polishes that we'll have available, so please check us out! Pictures to come on Friday, when we can finally mix it all.
(and before anyone asks, no, we have not formulated any "manicures" from Kaiji... yet.) EDIT: whoops, I forgot to mention that we're at table #6 in the Bayview room! Here's a map for those attending:

Second: cosplay crap - Nezumi from No.6 on Friday. Dragging toggy with me as Sion. We'll be doing these outfits. - Gym!Keith Goodman from Tiger & Bunny on Saturday with toggyas Gym!Ivan. - Matoba from Natsume Yuujinchou on Saturday afternoon and... maybe Sunday
and now I shall go back to sewing the T&B costumes, which are for once the only thing not completely done and I still have... 3 days before the con. Wowee.
Edit: right, I went to the Alcest concert last Friday and I was allowed to bring my camera. I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to go through all of my pictures, and now my main computer seems to be on its last legs, so I'm not even sure when I'll get to edit the photos I took of Enslaved.
All I can say is that Neige is moe (truth) and Alcest was amazing!

Oh right. I went along with my father on a business trip to Pismo Beach, which is a little shithole of a beach/tourist town with apparently nothing but surf/tourist shops, tattoo parlors (I'm serious, 5 tattoo parlors within a 4 block radius) and greasy restaurants. There wasn't much to do there and I've still been feeling sick so I spent most of my time asleep or eating (free hotel breakfast? HELL YES. I missed cereal and bagels so much.) On the bright side, our hotel was really nice and it was pet-friendly, so Roxie went with us. I'm just sad that we didn't get a beach view room.

→ Coffin of a Chimera arrived and I'm too sissy to look through it out of fear of getting fingerprints on the pages. I need to go find a pair of gloves or something.
→ Massive pic dump with photos from out on San Francisco bay and a few pictures from the Giants game I went to on the 4th.

| HOT BONER PAYLOAD |
[22 Jun 2011|01:35am] |
→ Dad scored baseball tickets from his work. I'm not really a sports fan at all but I had a hell of a fun time watching the Giants get pounded with like 8 runs against them in the first inning. The tickets were for a box suite too, so it was hella swank, and we had a great view. I hope tickets come up again sometime, as I wouldn't mind going back.
→ OOEEOO I LOOK JUST LIKE BUDDY HOLLY
→ kiwimangoodness convinced me to get Resonance of Fate (End of Eternity) about a week ago by linking me some of the amazing chapter videos. When I first saw images from it, I assumed that it was just another run of the mill JRPG and... it totally isn't. It's like Shadow Hearts 2.0, the gameplay is even kind of reminiscent of Shadow Hearts? The characters are the cutest things ever and I frequently have to pause for giggle breaks. ( no, really. everyone needs this game and it's 27 bucks from AmazonCollapse )
→ OH OH AND YOU'RE MARY TYLER MOORE
→ AND NOW, THE MAIN POINT OF THIS ENTRY: BRB SPEWING MY HOT BONER PAYLOAD ALL OVER THE PLACE. DMD came (HURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR) and uh yeah I think I am just going to play it for the rest of forever. This game is so bad (in terms of content) that it's beautiful. It's like it went full retard full circle into FULL AMAZING.
Garcia would probably do it, too.
Gameplay's pretty smooth for a Suda51 game, though melee attacks are almost completely useless. Overall I'm reasonably impressed with combat, considering that I was kind of shitting myself hoping that it wouldn't be terrible and spent a few hours trying to dig up reviews on how it handled before preordering it a while back.
I'm just in it for long ride on Johnson, anyway.

Went to San Francisco the other day. Was supposed to have dinner there but my father forgot his wallet and wanted to go back and get it (I could have paid? welp.) so we wound up having dinner closer to home instead.
I took some random photos, since criminalqueen's little series of post about her country/town is really interesting, and so I thought I'd show non-local people a bit of what it looks like here? I'm no writer, so these are just pictures.
( Better than a holiday in Cambodia, though it's still tough, kid.Collapse )

THIRDLY:"FanimeCon 2011 Announces Japanese Rock Icon Yoshiki as a Guest of Honor!" OH. MY GOD. On the bright side, it's so last minute that there hopefully won't be many shrieking fans?
And how many Jrock/Vizkei fans these days even know who Yoshiki is anymore?
