SV Centauri (SV Cen / HD 102552 / CD-59 3950)[7] ye una estrella variable na constelación de Centaurus. La so distancia al Sistema Solar nun ye bien conocida —el satélite Hipparcos nun midió'l so paralax—, envalorándose en ~ 12.700 años lluz.[8]

SV Centauri constitúi una binaria cercana —los dos componentes tópense bien próximes ente sigo— y mientres unes fontes considerar una binaria semidesprendida,[9] otres considerar una binaria de contautu.[10] El tipu espectral conxuntu ye B2,[7] siendo les componentes del sistema una estrella caliente de la secuencia principal de tipu B1 y una xigante —o xigante lluminosa— azul de tipu B6.5II-III.[11] La rellación ente les mases de dambes componentes, q, ye igual a 0,84, siendo les respeutives temperatures efectives de 28.000 y 17.000 K;[10] otres fontes indiquen temperatures notablemente inferiores, 11.330 y 7.800 K, en concordanza col tipu espectral consideráu, B8.[9]

El periodu orbital del sistema ye de 1,65898 díes (39,82 hores), tando clasificada SV Centauri como una binaria eclipsante del tipu W Ursae Majoris. El so rellumu fluctúa ente magnitú aparente +8,71 y +9,98,[12] esistiendo un eclís principal y un eclís secundariu, correspondiendo una cayida nel rellumu de 1,27 magnitúes pal primeru y 0,74 magnitúes pal segundu.[11]
