I'm finishing the job, and here are a few photos of the result. I hope you like it at least a little.
It wasn't a fun project, more like a "real project," but you know, what you want to achieve, even if it's good, takes effort...
Even though there's plenty of room for improvement, I think IMHO I've achieved something decent enough to add to the model, and that doesn't detract from its appeal, but on the contrary, adds life and a sense of scale, something I've been looking for for years (there are about 10 years or more between the tank and the figures).
I've done a few things to the tank, like opening the hatches, obviously. I broke something, but it was conveniently fixed. I added a chain to the front, and painted the side pipes on the left exhaust a suitable color.
The figures are glued to the model, as I dropped them several times and had to retouch them.
