The dissertation studies and lists all Aztec stone sculptures with hieroglyphs, which are interpreted in terms of historical events in particular. One hieroglyph was argued to be the name of Montezuma II, and its variations were carved on the Teocalli of Sacred Warfare (Montezuma's Throne), the Calendar Stone, and the cliff carving on the ruler Montezuma II at Chapultepec, recognized here for the first time.
