Not really much to say

Futzing around with my med level after I had a fainting spell and insomnia three days out of four. Hoping it all balances out.
Trying to get stuff done. Not sure if I'm succeeding or not.
My dad's leaving tomorrow to go on a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. He's going to be with family who are mostly geologists. As the theology student, he has a clear understanding of his role; getting those godless heathens to acknowledge it's only six thousand years old and explaing that any fossils they discover are Satan's work. It'd work better if he could keep a straight face while saying either bit. He's also engaging in a debate over whether he should bring canned beer or boxed wine, and is finding very little sympathy over the gravity of this decision from either immediate family member.
My mother and I are going to see Michael Moore's new movie tomorrow about the (lack thereof) American health care system. Oh American health insurance, you bleeding heart you. (Has a mother with a heart condition that insurance refuses to cover and a pre-med friend with several choice phrases describing it).
Trying to write a few things. Here's a snippet I like too much not to post:

ANYWAY...
Because I'm insane, I'm signing up for my first livejournal positing community, try_that_fic. If all goes well, I'm going to be reccing FFVII for the merry month of May. So many shinies to choose from...
I'm also trying (Yet again...) to write from one of my original character verses, the same one the earlier drabble about Joshua was in. Jade's hard to write because unlike most of my characters, she has a very restrained attitude and, for the beginning of this universe, can't talk so I have to get creative.
Why does it make so much sense in my head but not on paper?
Also, made it to the gastrointestinologist today. I'm basically going back on the meds for Acid Reflux, combined with the fiber and digestive enzymes. I'm wondering if I need to go bug my health insurance company to see if they'll cover the last two- that stuff adds up after a while.
(edit: dear god I just spent five minutes playing with the little fox in the mood tags. So. Friggin'. Cute.)

A drabble I wrote that takes place in my half-blood verse- basically, half-demons vs. demons amidst a clueless human population. This is about Joshua's creation; Joshua technically didn't exist until Marie fixed his mind, since he'd never had a name before. His ability is to absorb memories through contact with sentient tissue (sort of think Rogue from the X-men only no life-draining problem), but before Marie he had no idea how to organize the memories or protect his inner self from whatever he came in contact with.
I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, except for the last bit; I think it ends too abruptly but I have no idea how to make it longer.
