I cannot believe I'm doing this, but I am in SERIOUS need of a beta for my onceuponabang big bang story. It's a genderbend rewrite of the 18th episode, "The Stable Boy". Right now, as I'm still fucking writing it in a mad frenzy [you have NO idea how hardwired into my brainstem this story is right now, or how hardcore the muse is pushing me to write it], it's sitting at about 17k. I'm guessing the final product with be around 20-25k.

It's Regina/Danielle and Regina/Emma.

My normal beta for such things, shatterpath has requested not to beta this one and just be a reader.

I am supposed to post it on Friday, the 7th of September. I will have the first 2/3-3/4 finished tonight. The last chunk [probably 1-2 chapters] will be finished in the next day or two.

YES, I KNOW HOW CLOSE TO THE DEADLINE THIS REQUEST IS!

Is there ANYONE willing to help my stupid self out and do a beta for me?

Thing the first :: I am in need of a beta for two My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic stories. One is mine for winter_wrapup [due 16th March] and the other is for shatterpath's witchesbigbang story [due 10th March]. We'll offer fic to whoever can beta for us. • ILU-486 by amand_r
  This is not a happy, light fic about the current birth control debacle here in the US, but it's definitely something that needs to be read. It's a sucker punch to the gut, but I think it's well worth the read...
  
  
• The End Is the Beginning Is the End by ouronlylight [Once Upon a Time, Regina/Leopold, Regina/Daniel, Regina/Huntsman]
  SPOILERS: Episode 1x18 "Stable Boy"
  CONTENT WARNINGS: character death, child abuse, incest, non-graphic violence, rape
  I am NOT one to read much het and I definitely try to steer clear of anything with incest or rape. But I have a not-so-hidden thing for Regina, which is what caused me to override my normal moratorium on fics involving incest or rape. And I have to say that I'm actually glad I did. This ended up being a very fascinating character piece about Regina.
  
  
• Hips Don't Lie by damelola [Once Upon a Time, Emma/Regina]
  This is definitely a happier fic than the previous two. And it's got some very yummy Regina and Emma sexiness. Definitely a fun and hot ride, this one! *veg*

Thing the third :: I have mentioned many times in the past my desire to become published in some way, shape, or form. I even set up a pro blog about a year and a half ago toward that goal. Said blog has been woefully underutilized to date, but that's all changing now. I am going to be posting more things there, including any and all original fic that I write. The half a dozen pieces I've written and posted to DW/LJ will be moved to the pro blog as the sneak peeks they are into the novel that I'm working on. The entries themselves will still remain in my journals, just with a forwarder link to the pro blog.

Thing the fourth :: I am working on getting everything together to head down to Oregon again on Saturday. I'll be there for 3 weeks again. Am hoping to get some letters written for my got_snail_mail penpals, as well as working on some more crafting stuff. I have to finish up the gifts I'm making for my cousin's baby, as I'm hoping to send the package out before I come home [she's due on 20th April]. I'm also hoping to get a lot more writing done while I'm down there.

Thing the fifth :: Speaking of getting writing done, I have a LOT to get caught up on in the next month for several of my challenges/ficathons. Oh, I'll get it all done. I'll just go slightly crazy doing it. LOL!

I have a story due for leverage_sesa and I am in need of some beta assistance. Normally, I would give this to shatterpath, but she is currently frolicking in the relative warmth of SoCal to celebrate the holidays with her family.

The story is a smutty Parker/Sophie piece in the 2k word range, but shouldn't exceed 2500 -- no, I'm not quite done with it yet. Sophie thinks Parker should be rewarded at this point, and who am I to tell Sophie no? *veg*

Please let me know if you can take a look at this for me. It'll be ready for beta within the next hour or so... Unless Sophie and Parker decide to be evil wenches and make it go longer. Because, y'know, writing Parker/Sophie smut is SUCH a hardship... *sporfles*

• December 2011 Free Once Card Draw
  Because I will actually be out of state on the day I normally do the full moon free draw, I will be holding it instead on this Sunday, 4 December 2011 from 1000-2200 PST [with the possibility of being extended to a full 24 hours, though that's not a concrete decision yet]. First off, in case you might have missed it because I posted in the middle of the night, I am holding my monthly full moon one card draw. Feel free to pop over to either my DW or LJ to request a card. I'm already almost halfway through the readings of the people who've already made requests, which is fantastic. There's still 8 1/2 hours open to request a card. AND if you leave a tip, I have some great incentives going.

Am wishing there were more tips this time around, but I'll take what I can get. I'm thinking I may have to try a few different crowdfunding options down the line. I'm going to need to start raising some money to help pay for the exorbitant bills from my kidney stones adventure. I've gotten 3 bills now :: $205 from the radiology clinic, $600 from the doctor himself, and $6k from the hospital. I'm pretty sure the hospital bill will be completely covered by the assistance, but I don't know that for sure yet. The other two? I'm not sure. I'm probably going to have to pay for those, and that's going to be quite a bit of money coming from basically nowhere. I'm hoping that's the last of the bills. There shouldn't be anything else that I get a bill for, but who knows... And I need to get the hospital to send me an actual detailed bill with all the line charges, because that seems pretty fucking expensive to me.

Anyone willing to do a beta on an approximately 3k word Rizzoli & Isles piece of mine? It's done, but needs a good looking over at this point.

There was something else I wanted to talk about, but I'm blanking atm. So I guess I'll go back to the readings, and when I remember what it was, I'll post about it again...

Yeah, I've decided it's time to branch out from just shatterpath as my beta.

No worries, she'll still be my primary beta. But there are times when she doesn't have the time, or in some instances doesn't know the fandoms enough.

Hence my search for another beta or two.

My Requirements

• Must have a solid grasp of the English language, spoken and written.
  
• Must be willing to do more than "That was nice, can I have more?"
  
• Must be willing to smack me in the head if I get too belligerent about something that's blatantly wrong. [ie. canon, unless I specify it's an AU]
