Shameless Self Promotion!

Chronogram Magazine is a serious periodical that emphasizes arts and happenings in the Hudson Valley. In fact, it calls itself “The defining voice of the Hudson Valley.” An occasional feature is called Sound Check, where a member of the local community is asked to discuss his/her current listening habits.  For the February issue the person they asked to submit was the Head Archivist for the ARChive of Contemporary Music: Freddie Patterson. This was facilitated by the ‘zine’s arts editor Peter Aaron, a friend of the ARC. The physical magazine is available in some restaurants, bars, record stores, libraries, art galleries and other groovy places  around the area. If you can’t afford to travel here to pick one up, you can view it online here:

Thanks for the hustle, Mr. Aaron!

That’s not all–Mr. Patterson was also recently interviewed by Rock’s Back Pages, a British enterprise that is an archive of music writing that goes back more than fifty years. Rock’s Back Pages also has an exemplary podcast and it is for the podcast that Mr. Patterson was interviewed. On the ‘cast, Mr. Patterson’s history in music (Back Door Man, Thee Precisions, etc) was discussed, as well as his current work at the ARChive of Contemporary Music. He was quizzed by the prolific music journalist Barney Hoskyns. You can listen to that here:

Thank you for the hustle, Mr. Hoskyns!
